EXCL: NEC officers have voted by a majority to let Andy Burnham stand in the Makerfield by-election. Unclear if a meeting was held in the end - there were conflicting reports this morning and sources told me earlier there was nothing in the diary - but a vote has been taken and Burnham will be allowed to stand as the candidate.

@jamie_castle96 He’s an absolute liability. Cost us the game at WBA and clearly didn’t want to be here last season or this. Got one or two big errors in him most games. Terribly overrated.

@LutonEye Yeah all fair on wingers. Think Mengi gets unfairly criticised imo despite weekend’s performance. Still our best CB on paper if we can get him back to his best. I’d’ve gone Makosso and Mengi as the pair.

@Artemisfornow He thinks this is a clever way to ‘put more money in people’s pockets’ without actually costing the government a penny. He’s too thick to contemplate the consequences for small businesses.

@arrivatheshires A 40 minute wait for a #12. Absolutely unacceptable. How can a service be this consistently shite?

@chrismitch99 Jones came off injured, so I guess that’s him. Alli I guess is behind Kodua and Morris in the winger pecking order…

@LutonEye @admiral1914 That's right. I used to sit in the press box with my dad back in the day and ring grandstand and world of sport with any goals that went in. Happy days

@Robison35032341 @admiral1914 Of course (I hadn’t looked at your profile pic properly!). He sat right behind me for many years, next to Danny in the press box. What a lovely guy he was. Retired down to Devon or Cornwall didn’t he?

@LutonEye @admiral1914 I've got the shirt and the tracksuit top, but let's say if I tried to wear it now it would be a little "snug" 😜

@arrivatheshires And no, I don't want to private message you. Luton Town centre is a cesspit of druggies, beggars and ropey looking scallies. No woman or schoolchild wants to stand at a bus stop in the dark for 40 minutes in that environment.

@LutonEye @Keir_Starmer @10DowningStreet True. There’s plenty of jobs out there. However, you can’t expect businesses to be increasing cost of energy, food and services and not increase the NLW. This would just create a lot of homeless and people plain debt.

From April, we're raising the National Living Wage and National Minimum Wage. The cost of living is the number one issue people are facing, with too many struggling to make ends meet. I am determined to tackle it.

@KAE1967 @Keir_Starmer @10DowningStreet They won’t have any wages at all when businesses lay people off to balance the books. Labour already kicked them in the bollocks with NICs. Difficult for people to support any businesses when the government are stealing more in tax every year with fiscal drag.

@LutonEye @Keir_Starmer @10DowningStreet To an extent yes, however it’s also down to the public to ensure small businesses thrive. Should employees in small business get a shit wage to keep the business open if locals aren’t supporting it? Can have good wages working for small businesses if people support the business.
