I’m a Telugu journalist based out of Hyderabad and I’m writing this on behalf of EVERY SOUTH INDIAN STATE. India needs to pay URGENT attention !! This is not delimitation. This is political punishment. Punishment for controlling population. Punishment for investing in education. Punishment for doing exactly what the nation asked us to do. For decades, South Indian states acted responsibly , built human capital, strengthened public systems, and contributed disproportionately to India’s economy. And now, the reward? Fewer voices in Parliament. Let that sink in. States that governed better are being pushed to the margins, while political power shifts purely on population numbers. This is not federalism. This is a structural imbalance in the making. Is India still a Union of States or are we heading toward permanent dominance by a few, at the cost of others? Representation cannot come at the cost of balance. Democracy cannot mean silencing those who performed better. If delimitation happens without safeguards, it won’t just redraw constituencies , it will redraw the idea of India itself. SOUTH INDIA IS NOT ASKING FOR PRIVELEGE. These update pages crying for streets roads were silent when ADMK did not conduct local body elections and ran the state with officers. Union govt did not give fund for local bodies because there is no local body. This affected the spending and admk was happy becauee noone questioned them. Then DMK came they conducted local body elections, they then started to repair the damages caused by 10 years of misgovernance. We correctly identified these updates pages and their narratives and now @ptrmadurai is giving them slipper shots.

Stop playing the victim card. A few questions: 1) Is maintaining roads the responsibility of the State Government or the Local Body (Madurai Corporation)? I'll make it easy for you, it is the Local Body (Madurai Corporation). 2) When Federalism is a core principle of our party, how can be be two-faced, like many of you "freelance journalists". Just as we condemn the Union interfering in our State Govt, State MLA's & Ministers should NOT interfere in the Local Bosy, unless in exceptional situations. So why am I asked to take responsibility for the performance, or lack thereof, of the Madurai Corporation? 3) Leaving that aside, is P. T. Rajan road - whose condition you bemoan - even in my Constituency? I'll make it easy for you - it is not. So why do you use it's condition to condemn my capabilites or performance? 4) So....you condemn my performance as an MLA or Minister, based on a road not in my Constituency, and whose maintenance is related to the Madurai Corporation, not my role at all. 5) Were you, and are you still not, following the template of wild accusations of the unwitting Candidate in my Constituency, who has no idea of the Constitutional separation of roles and responsibilities? (Those seeing this post, please check this person's timeline). 6) Do you know that steps I took as FM (6th State Finance Commission related, among others) have helped Madurai Corporation (indeed all local bodies) double Annual Revenues? Does that it make it more likely that they can improve infrastructure like roads, or not? Of course the answer is yes. Why did you not give me any credit for it? 7) Would it not be an abuse of power to direct the Madurai Corporation to prioritize a road named after my grandfather? 8) Are you in regular contact with the infamous press broker Parthiban Kumar, who is engaged in the aforementioned candidate's media management campaign? Anyway, it is not worth having any further conversation with you...let's go our separate ways...

This Is Not Reform, This Is Reengineering Power The NDA government under Hon’ble Prime Minister Thiru. @NarendraModi is systematically eroding the very foundations of Parliament. What should be a vibrant forum for debate and accountability is being reduced to a hollow ritual, a stage where members may not even get fair time to speak or represent their people. This proposal to increase seats is a direct contradiction of their own slogan of minimum government, maximum governance. It will only inflate expenditure, burden taxpayers, and dilute the quality of parliamentary functioning. This also goes against the spirit of Article 1 of the Constitution, which defines India as a Union of States. Ignoring the voices of states and bypassing meaningful consultation is not democratic - it is unitary overreach that undermines India’s federal and plural character. More alarmingly, this exercise will blatantly skew representation and tilt the balance of power in favour of northern states dominated by the Bharatiya Janata Party, while silencing the voice of South India. As forcefully pointed out by veteran leader Thiru. @Siddaramaiah, this is not a neutral exercise; it is a calculated political restructuring. Northern states stand to gain nearly double the seats, while the South’s share stagnates at around 24%. This is nothing short of penalising states like Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Keralam and Telangana for their success in population control. Chief Ministers across the South, including Thiru @Siddaramaiah, Thiru @PinarayiVijayan and Thiru @Revanth_Anumula , have rightly warned that this move will distort federalism and concentrate power in a few regions. The timing raises serious suspicion. Why push such a far-reaching decision in the middle of state elections? This appears to be yet another political manoeuvre aimed at shaping electoral narratives, much like earlier attempts to influence women voters ahead of the 2024 Parliament elections. Let me be unequivocal: we strongly support 33% reservation for women. Our support is absolute. But it must be implemented without increasing seats and without punishing states that acted responsibly. If the intent is genuine, nothing prevents immediate implementation within the existing framework. The government’s claims of being a champion of OBCs and social justice are deeply hollow. It has denied OBCs their rightful share, kept the Rs. 8 lakh creamy layer ceiling frozen for decades even while preaching a “Developed India”, and offers no meaningful guarantee for OBC women’s representation. The haste to proceed without even considering the outcome of the first comprehensive caste census expected in 2027 further exposes the lack of sincerity. This is not empowerment, it is exclusion dressed up as reform. There is complete opacity on the basis for delimitation, will it rely on 1971 figures from a pre–population control era or the 2021 Census? Conflicting signals and vague assurances only deepen suspicion. This move will also impose a massive financial burden on states, forcing them to expand or rebuild Legislative Assemblies, all without proper consultation. This is a direct assault on cooperative federalism. This is not reform, it is a unilateral, politically driven exercise designed to concentrate power, weaken Parliament, marginalise the South, and undermine social justice. The nation deserves answers: why this undue haste, why shift the goalposts, and who truly stands to benefit? #FairDelimitation
