I don't understand the response of "Lemon is a bad fit for KC because he isn't an X". If the Chiefs traded for Amon-Ra would that be your response? KC needs a long term replacement for Kelce's reliable get open and catch the ball role. Lemon can do that.

@Kevinfr82173678 @ArrowheadAddict 1. I feel like I was pretty fair in listing his positives and what keeps him just short of the top LBs (he's never made a Pro Bowl or All Pro). 2. His cap hit is over $19 million this season. That's #2 in the NFL for a LB this season.

This is my question too. If all KC os paying is $3 million, this is a slam dunk great move. If they end up paying the $3 million guaranteed and $10 million more in base salary AND gave up a pick, I like it a lot less.

@DTLB58 I know about the void years, but his 2026 cap hit was $23 million. $3 million for signing bonus which doesn't carry over in trade, then reports said Jets were paying $7 million of his guaranteed salary (with KC paying $3 million), but he also had $10 million more in base for 26.

@LyleGraversen Yeah, new contract is just 1 year $3 million. Period. All the rest of his years are voided.

If the Jets are eating part of his salary. I LOVE this move. You fill the backup QB spot that was a major need with Mahomes rehabbing an injury, you have someone that can run QB sneaks now, plus you know Reid will get super creative with some special packages. I dig it.

If the demand for Jauan Jennings is lower than expected and his price tag is under $15m per year, I would definitely offer a 1 or 2 year deal at that price and hope the opportunity to play with Mahomes might draw him to KC.

Just a reminder that Juju played 620 offensive snaps for the Chiefs last year. Thornton had just 368. Juju: 345 yards, 1 touchdown Thornton: 438 yards, 3 touchdowns There is so much room for his role to grow. I love this signing, especially if they actually have a plan for him.

@LeeCEldridge I agree to an extent. Juju's primary job was as a blocker, but he still took a lot of snaps at the X spot, just as a blocking X. If you go back to the MVS days they used the X as a deep threat/field stretcher more often. I think we could see more of that again this year.
