@soxgnasher Asda have now closed down. It's now Hillwood Shopping District, a mall with all Kosher shops. It is the largest of it's kind in the whole of Europe.

Hi, I have just been listening to the East End Girls books by Rosie Hendry. I've listened to 4 but can't find the 5th, The East End Girls Together Again. Can you tell me please, have you narrated that one yet? I know the paper copy came out this year. Thank you.
@CerayeSand@liminalhackney@riocinema@CerayeSand It never became the Rio, it became 8 different shops. It was the Classic Cinema which became the Rio, the other side of John Campbell Rd to where Dudley's was and the building still is.

@soxgnasher@EssexHundred@Andrew_S_Hatton It was actually in this building which is on the corner of Ridley Road and St. Mark's Rise. He was born in Hackney and began selling electrical items from a van before moving into the Ridley Road building.
@EssexHundred@LynRennick@Andrew_S_Hatton according to Hackney Citizen "In 1970s a young businessman, Alan Sugar, rented a couple of floors at 89 Ridley Road – almost exactly in the middle of the market, from which he sold audio equiptment."
We're back! Twice weekly now. In this episode, Carol and me pick a plumber, help with dishes and try to stop swearing. @McGiffglobalplayer.com/podcasts/42Kr5…
This was the Russian scum’s largest attack. Almost 160 missiles and drones. Our warriors shot down most of them.
Usual Russian targets: over 100 destroyed or damaged private houses, 45 multi-story residential buildings, schools, two churches, hospitals, a maternity ward, and many commercial and storage facilities.
As of now, at least 30 people have been reported killed. My condolences to their close ones. Over 150 people have been injured, and all of them are receiving the necessary assistance.
It’s important that the world responds to this terror. Many leaders have expressed their support for Ukraine and Ukrainians, and I thank each one of them. Especially those who helped our state with air defense.
Today, our air defense warriors accomplished a lot. We will continue to strengthen our air defense and work to return war back to where it came from—to Russia.
How They Broke Britain sold more this week, the 8th since release, than any other. Over 100,000 in total. Given the content, it was guaranteed to be mostly reviewed negatively or not at all so I have word of mouth to thank. Thank you so, so much, you beautiful word of mouth, you!

@AnneDoverAudio Why didn't you narrate the 5th book in Anne Jacobs' Gibson family series? So disappointed. I listened to 1st 4 books this week & just began the 5th with another narrator & really can't get into it as I was so used to the voices of the characters in the 1st 4. :-(
