Morning day of release tickets booked for THE MANDALORIAN AND GROGU. IMAX of course. Star Wars back where it belongs - on the biggest screen possible. The hype is real.

@fandompulse So he's dumb as shit and I should never ever read one of his books? Thanks for letting me know. I'll just rewatch TLJ instead.

Brandon Sanderson explains why Rian Johnson's The Last Jedi is so bad: "The bad stuff in [The Last Jedi] is so bad. The fact that it is a slow paced chase through space in a world where people have FTL travel. Like, why are the enemy slowly chasing this convoy. Why? This isn't a plot hole. I sat in the theater. I'm like, 'Warp ahead of them.' ... 'Lightspeed. Lightspeed ahead of them.' ... I'm okay with the dropping bombs even though it's dumb and makes you be like, 'Wait. What?' But what bothers me is the pacing and the plotting makes no sense. The story makes no sense. Luke is the travesty. The salt planet's cool looking." Is he just touching the tip of the iceberg here? What else makes this movie so bad?

@aakashgupta It's not a fucking TV cast and director. In what world are Pedro Pascal, Sigourney Weaver, John Favreau not film actors/director? Just nonsense.

Since Rise of Skywalker closed the Skywalker Saga in December 2019, Disney has announced at least 10 new Star Wars theatrical films. Zero have made it to a theater. The one that finally broke the streak is a $166 million repackaged Disney+ TV season. Rian Johnson's trilogy, Benioff and Weiss's trilogy, Kevin Feige's film, Patty Jenkins' Rogue Squadron, Taika Waititi's project, Damon Lindelof's Rey film, Steven Knight's Rey film, Guillermo del Toro's Jabba movie, James Mangold's Dawn of the Jedi, Dave Filoni's Mandalorian team-up film. All announced with press releases. All dead, parked, or delayed. Then Lucasfilm did the simplest thing possible. They took what was going to be Mandalorian Season 4 and moved it to theaters. The budget is the tell. $166 million, per the California Film Commission. Rise of Skywalker cost $416 million. Force Awakens cost $638 million. Even The Acolyte, the Disney+ show Disney canceled for being too expensive, came in at $230 million. The Star Wars theatrical film restarting the franchise costs less than the Star Wars streaming show they just killed for costing too much. The math only works if you understand what broke. Disney paid $4 billion for Lucasfilm in 2012 planning a Marvel-style theatrical engine. When Rise of Skywalker landed badly with fans, they pivoted. Star Wars was moving to Disney+. The Mandalorian was the anchor. Disney+ then ran up $11 billion in cumulative operating losses before reaching profitability, and Iger called the aggressive streaming push a mistake in 2023. So now the flagship Disney+ show is the movie that has to restart theatrical. A TV cast. A TV director. A story originally planned as a streaming season. Running a summer window against Mission Impossible and Marvel. What you're watching in that trailer is a $4 billion acquisition, six years of aborted directors, and a collapsed streaming thesis all being carried on the back of one puppet baby.

George Lucas on why there aren't more women in Star Wars: "Well, what of Princess Leia? When you’re making a war film, how are you going put women in it? Think of other war films, think of The Longest Day, those films. Well, it’s your galaxy; I have to go with the rest of the world. And still make it believable. I’m not sure how many women will be in the rest of the films; that the kind of thing that plots dictate. What would Star Wars have been like if Han Solo had been a woman?” Are we getting more feminism from The Mandalorian and Grogu film?

@NigeYC @VueHelp They will be on before Tuesday, that's just a stock social media response from Vue. Printworks has done this before and been a few hours behind.

@VueHelp But why wouldn’t you release showings on the day Disney and Lucasfilm are pushing tickets as being on sale? By Tuesday other showings may be sold out so I won’t just gamble and wait until Tuesday!

@VueHelp So other cinema chains have IMAX screenings listed so will just go to Odeon. Ridiculous that a big movie release has a big announcement to say tickets available but Vue don’t list in a major UK IMAX location. Disappointed

Gary Buechler aka Nerdrotic on the current state of Star Wars: "We're 1 year away from Star Wars 50th anniversary. They should be building up and doing something and they're going to come out with The Mandalorian and Grogu. ... Let's not take away the amount of work they put in [expletive] up Star Wars. 'Cause you have to try that hard to [expletive] up the strongest intellectual property for cinema ever with the most passionate fans. And the only reason it's still got any life in it, even though it's just a zombie that's just been brought back to life to just bugger, that there's still people out there that love Star Wars enough." Who are the people you think had the biggest hands in ruining Star Wars? Is there anyone that you think could resuscitate it?

@TRBpodcasts Facts. Also, he made (IMO) one of only two genuinely good Disney live action remakes. All of this and we haven't even mentioned Chef yet!

Jon Favreau launched the MCU. Jon Favreau made the best Christmas movie of this century. Jon Favreau made the first live-action Star Wars television series, and it was a massive success. Jon Favreau made a Star Wars movie and it comes out in six weeks! #TheMandalorianAndGrogu

I see today the internet is hating on ALIEN ROMULUS. Nonsense if you ask me, a 4 star movie and certainly one of the stronger Alien movies.
