I feel like a broken record, but with active regions remaining on the quieter side with not much complexity to them, coronal hole driven fast solar wind continues to dominate.
The fast solar wind from recurrent +CH31 should reach Earth in the next 2-3 days (13th/14th) as the CH rotates towards the geoeffective zone, marked by the blue line. Last rotation, associated fast solar wind produced multiple periods of minor (G1) storming. Despite some uncertainties previously noted by @NWSSWPC, I expect similar conditions to be possible this time around, maybe some assistance by the approach of equinox (Russell-McPherron effect).
Note: Typically, negative polarity CHs are more favorable around spring equinox, but we have seen positive polarity CHs work against this in the past, so I will not completely write it off. @LynkerSpace
Kinda surreal visiting the place (@LASPatCU) I sent 10 weeks at in 2019 as a summer intern, really getting immersed into space weather, and now working as a scientist at @LynkerSpace / SWPC. A bit of an “I made it” moment. 🥹
