When my book of life draws to close, I hope the good chapters out shine the inevitable bad ending.

@LeeJarvis10 With all clubs looking for finacial backer, couldnt one of the disgarded regions take over an English club and relocate it. Don’t understand why London Welsh have not been utilised for non-playing academy players to gain experience and to help them!🤷🏼♂️

@g_r_owen Some kids look for apprenticeships and jobs and therefore dont go into the college setup, but play well for their club, need our dev officers to watch club rugby and not solely rely on what comes to them on a plate through the existing system. There is talent out there.

@Charly_w @LeeJarvis10 I played in Portugal and they would regularly water the pitch before a game.

@LeeJarvis10 Great for tag but soon as tackling starts it’s a nightmare for injuries. The female hubs season runs late into June/July sometimes and it’s resulted in so many broken bones for the hard ground. 🤦🏼♀️

With the dwindling interest at the grassroots level, I honestly believe we should try summer rugby to get the interest back up and see how it unfolds. I personally think it will take off. BiG time. Please don't anyone reply 'What about the cricket season'
Thanks 👍

Summer rugby anyone?

@LeeJarvis10 Stop having rugby and football competing for mini and junior players would be a start.
Have rugby on one day and football on another. Both sports can then have kids happy and playing whilst their skill sets complement and grow each sport.

WELSH PROFESSIONAL RUGBY: I’m amazed how many educated people with vast rugby knowledge are resigned to the fact that Wales should only have three or two pro sides. This situation has been created by incompetent governance and subsequently they want you to accept that a reduction of teams is necessary. IMHO that was part of a plan! The true supporter has been systematically ostracised - this is one of the reasons there isn’t adequate money available??? As for talent? We are graced with a massive amount of it, but sadly it isn’t nurtured adequately. Sad, so sad.

@Geraint08 @OspreysSC Ospreys centre gets penalty for diving on the ball when it popped out of a ruck, Leinster SA second row does exactly the same 2 minutes later and he plays on 😵💫

@LeeJarvis10 Dillon Lewis at Harlequins is playing games with opposite props, wait for it 'he is too old and not mobile enough' we need a prop who props as a first job...🕺

@photographyrsp From my experience ability means nothing. If you dont fit the mold of being submissive at academy level they work a way to get you out regardless of your ability, not getting on the field when there are live cameras, having a game agains RGC when noone is about, had it all...

WELSH RUGBY. A very good and extremely well respected Rhondda rugby mate just messaged me this @WelshRugbyUnion - what’s your thoughts? :
“I think it might make sense to humbly go back to a time when the Welsh Development system was producing quality competive players. It is the system that the so called Golden Generation came through ie; DCThomas, District U12s ,13s & 14s. A traditional Dewar Shield Season running from September to May & involving competive Dewar Shield games and friendlies so all the boys played and developed over the course of a season and then Regional U16s and U18s and also Wales U16s ( that will help keep boys in Wales). With the clubs playing an important role too!
That system captured the hearts and minds of players at a young age, created resilience and drove up standards with the least disruption. Use this as the basis and try always try to improve???? We are definitely NOT “Being the best you can be!”. @DafyddJames13 @stephenjones9 @WalesRugby @BBCScrumV

@rugby_in_union In Wales, stop telling kids they are out of the system at 14, stop nepotism, pick talent and don't smother it. So many talented kids wallk away or as is happening more travvel to play outside Wales.

Player development and pathways are at the heart of what I’m doing with Rugby in Union and my PhD research.
When it comes to producing talent, Leinster and Toulouse are at the top of the tree. But the big question is, how do you replicate that success elsewhere when the resources or systems aren’t the same?
I’ll be diving into what makes pathways tick, how coaching and structures shape players, and what lessons can be applied globally. More insights to come, especially as my research delves deeper!
What would rugby heads say the biggest roadblocks for building a top-tier academy system outside of setups like Leinster or Toulouse are?

@RickyHarries This was a great day, I also remember how Ian had an icon of world rugby in his pocket all game. Don't think Lawrence knew what to do, this made Ian a legend in one game.
