1907 marked one of the most significant turning points in Indian Motorcycle history: the introduction of the world's first production V-Twin engine. While twin-cylinder engines had existed in limited, experimental forms, Indian Motorcycle’s mass-production of its V-Twin was groundbreaking. The engineering leap delivered far more than a power increase, it established a sound, a feel, and a mechanical identity that would shape the very definition of an American motorcycle for generations to come. The original 633cc V-Twin was engineered to deliver smoother acceleration and stronger torque than its single-cylinder predecessors, making the machine faster and more capable across varying terrain. Riders discovered that the twin-cylinder platform provided the stamina and speed needed for demanding adventures, reinforcing the brand’s reputation for reliability and performance. This early V-Twin laid the foundation for a lineage that continues today. It was the birth of a signature American engine architecture. With the 1907 model, Indian Motorcycle didn’t just refine the riding experience; it reshaped expectations of what a motorcycle could be, ushering in an era defined by power, durability, and unmistakable character. 125 years later, our efforts to reshape expectations continue... #indianmotorcycle
