M6 Class BPEF 2024/25

Looking forward to welcoming the class back for the Spring term. We hope that you have had a wonderful break over the festive period and wish you all a happy new year. On behalf of the team, thank you for your very generous gifts for Christmas. They were very much appreciated.

A big thank you to Electric Umbrella for giving their wonderful performance to us. It was fabulous!

Geography - can we articulate like geographers to explain the location of the North and South poles. Latitude and longitude? Why is only Antarctica a continent?

Maths - studying the new topic of fractions. But how do factors and multiples (which we studied at the end of last half term) relate? Take the blinkers off - every Maths topic is related to the other.

Maths - what is a factor and what is a multiple? And how do they relate to each other?

History - how racially diverse were the American troops based in England in WW2? Were all of the soldiers treated the same? What did separate but equal mean in reality? Ask your child to explain.

Guided Reading - can the Bastille song Pompeii be read at face value to be about the fall of Pompeii or is it in fact a metaphor for lost love?

Maths today - factors and multiples. Maths is about making connections with number. How does this link to long division and fractions, for example?

English - what is parenthesis and when would we use it? Ask your child to explain!

A big thank you to Rabbi Yosef for giving assemblies to our infants and juniors on Jewish new year, Rosh Hashanah, next week. He also gave us an expert blowing of the shofar. Always wonderful to learn about different religions, their festivals and customs. @B6BPEF

Guided reading - our new book, Cogheart. What’s it about? Where is it set and in what time? What have we learnt so far?
