I had lots of fun fishing for vesicles during my PhD 🎣🔬 and I’m very happy to see the final version of this story out along with a wild cherry tree planted in the Forest of Biologists - a wonderful biodiversity-promoting initiative by @Co_Biologists!

Mary Fesenko, Stephen Royle and colleagues @BMSatWarwick @warwickmed @uniofwarwick find that ATG9A vesicles are a subtype of intracellular nanovesicle. Highlight: journals.biologists.com/jcs/article/13… Article: journals.biologists.com/jcs/article/13… #OpenAccess #ReadandPublish

I’m currently looking for a post-doc in the UK, particularly to work on projects that employ in-vitro reconstitution and quantitative #microscopy approaches to study #cellbiology processes (esspecially #membranetraffic) + would be grateful for sign-posting towards openings! 🙏

And thank you @J_Cell_Sci for publishing an interview with me - I enjoyed reflecting on my work + journey in science so far! I’m looking forward to new chapters in my membrane trafficking adventures and hope to continue exploring how cell organelles shape-shift + communicate!

Really exited to be at #100biologists! Come to my poster #120 NOW to hear about my PhD work with Steve Royle on characterising different flavours of intracellular nanovesicles! We also have (moderately) exciting giveaway at my poster - check it out! 🌈🔬

Incredibly honoured to have my first paper as PI highlighted in this collection! The idea was do a quick tool paper as start into independence and it turned out to be much more useful than I thought. Read about how to use recombinant biosensors to stain for lipids in fixed cells!

Our annual collection highlights twelve of the most outstanding papers that showcase the exceptional range and quality of research published by JCB. We are delighted to serve as an independent venue for the awe-inspiring world of cell biology! hubs.la/Q02_fVs30 #CellBio2024

Noboru shows a 'MD simulation'. ATG9 vesicles move freely due to thermodynamic fluctuations. When they contact the OPTN droplet in the center of the screen, the ATG9 vesicles are captured and anchored to the droplet due to the wetting effect (Mizushima et al. unpublished)

Our new paper has been published in @embojournal! We demonstrated that capillary forces by autophagy receptor droplets on mitochondria is important for mitochondrial recognition and mitophagy. Congratulations, Zi! embopress.org/doi/full/10.10…

@midbody I haven’t managed to see it myself all year, despite being a night owl 🦉as you know! I came out to have a look last night, but I think there’s there’s too much light pollution around my flat 😢
