Major paper I've been working on is out today! We found genetics has a strong influence on skeletal response to immobilization. This is the first evidence showing changes in bone volume, quality and gene expression from immobilization are heritable. doi.org/10.1016/j.bonr…

Everyone has been asking why our fearless program committee chair has been walking around #ASBMR2024 with a boot. So now is the time for @ASBMR attendees to guess how adventurous Roberta hurt her foot. Funniest answers will be featured at the News session tomorrow morning! 🤣

well, well, well. The proposal was “NOT Discussed”, meaning it is among lower half of 50 percentile 😰. Maybe, it is too ambitious? I did say that we want to solves the Wolff’s law 😅😅😅

Rarely it rained in Kyoto. I felt great after submitting the NIH R01 grant application. Take advantage of 14 hour difference between Kyoto and New York. I am kind of person who needs deadlines.

Check out or new paper examining how genetic variation affects skeletal muscles exposed to simulated microgravity: nature.com/articles/s4152… We found that genetics caused some mice to be protected from muscle loss. Transcriptomic response also varied based on genetic background.

@aecnichols Take a photo of your lab or office. Then photoshop mice into the picture, using the number of mice that you have bred. ... For science
