There is no place in our city for violence, destruction, or threats to officers who put themselves in harm’s way on behalf of all residents. Those who engage in this type of reckless and criminal behavior should be held fully accountable through prosecution.

#blackhistorymonth In commemoration of Black History Month, we pay tribute to the Boston Police Soul Patrol. In 1971, the @bostonpolice established a team composed only of African-American officers to patrol the city's black neighborhoods. The establishment was backed by NAACP.

Last week we marked the 50th anniversary of Lawyers for Civil Rights' landmark lawsuit integrating police and fire departments. We gathered our friends, allies, and pro bono partners for a catalytic discussion about the future of diversity in public safety agencies. Kudos to @WilmerHale @TheBrattleGroup @MAMLEO_MA & @RepChynahTyler. Cheers!
