Exciting day for the #MAPPumn team! After a long trip from their winter home in TX, our 216 experimental colonies have made it to MN! 🐝 We’ll be managing them & collecting health data throughout the season. 🌿 Can’t wait to see how these #honeybees use our #habitat plantings 🌻

Look for the featherlike floral clusters in #prairie #restorations and along roadsides throughout Minnesota!

March’s #PrairieSeedOfTheMonth is #Achillea #millefolium aka Yarrow. This widespread #perennial has many common names, alluding to its varied use. Valued in sacred #medicine of Indigenous tribal communities, it’s been used by the #Ojibwe for ailments & ceremonies. 🐝 like it too!

Plant some #pollinator habitat. Talk to your legislators. Get involved in a citizen science program. Be an advocate in your city or community for native habitat — what it looks like, why it’s needed. Our panelists share ideas for what *anyone* can do. #SecondMondays

February’s #PrairieSeedOfTheMonth is Agastache foeniculum aka Anise hyssop! This drought-resistant bloom attracts a variety of pollinators, from #bumblebees to #monarchs. When crushed, the leaves smell of mint & licorice. Blue & violet hues make it a homegardener‘s favorite 🌱💜
