@tom_karnes A4) Teachers should first figure out what they are trying to accomplish with technology. Then ask colleges, people they know through their PLN, and do their own research to find the most effective approach for what they want to do #CSUBTED #CSUBEDTE4200 @Ststansberry

Last evening of the Slow Chat! Here's the next question. Make sure you include A4) before your response. Don't forget to tag #CSUBTED , #CSUBEDTE4200, and your EDTE 4200 professor.

@rosales_italia @Ststansberry Hello Italia! This is a great suggestion. Most of the time when kids are absent they have to figure it out, but it may feel like so much lost material. Meeting on zoom would be a great way to prevent that, and maybe just general check ins on zoom can be utilized as well!

@Ststansberry A3) Allowing the use of Google Translate for translating worksheets to their language. Having Zoom meetings if the student is absent to go over material they have missed. With the help of a translator, if you don't speak their 1st language. @Ststansberry #CSUBEDTE4200 #CSUBTED

@mrzeeeeeeeee @Ststansberry @doctor2pi Hello Jose, having digital assignments would be a great way to support multilingual students since they have more time to dissect and explore.

@Ststansberry A3: just piggybacking off what most students have said..google translate, duolingo, and padlet. Also, having students complete assignments that are digital instead of traditional worksheets.. #CSUBTED #CSUBEDTE4200 @doctor2pi

@Ststansberry A3) Teachers should use Google translate at times if communication is difficult. Also, teachers can use Duolingo to try and learn the kid’s other language. Teachers can also use group me to communicate with parents with the translate setting #CSUBEDTE4200 #CSUBTED @Ststansberry

@msantos_lara @doctor2pi Hello Maria! Great suggestion, I was super unfamiliar with google calendar until this class. A feature that stood out to me is that you can invite people onto a calendar date for a meeting!

@doctor2pi A2: I would recommend Google Calendar. Teachers can share class agendas and school events with the students and their families. One can change the language of the content; making it accessible to non native English speaking families. #EDTE4200 #CSUBTED @doctor2pi

@BrandonBax68860 @doctor2pi Hello Brandon! I agree, sort of wished we used Google classroom in college. It was a big shift going from only using Google classroom in middle and high school to blackboard and canvas.

@doctor2pi A2) A form of technology I would suggest to future educators or teachers would be Google Classroom. I have been in the teaching field for about 2 years now and it has been one of the most helpful tools! You can assign work, keep in touch to see who’s done or not, etc. Great tool!

@doctor2pi A2) I would recommend educators to use Google Chrome, especially Google Classroom. It’s very broad and can be unique to different kids. This tool is a great way to embed class work, grade assignments, reach out to students and parents, etc. #CSUBEDTE4200 #CSUBTED @Ststansberry

@gabygarcia2024 @doctor2pi Hello Gabriela! Definitely, remind is one of my favorites because it goes straight to your messages, which may be more convenient for some parents.

@doctor2pi A1:Teachers and parents can use technology for communication skills. Having good communication between parents and students can be very important. I've experienced the Remind app which I believe can be a useful tool for students to communicate. #CSUBTED #EDTE4200 @doctor2pi

@rubyfuentescsub @doctor2pi Hello Ruby! I also suggested using the same tools. I had heard about Class Dojo but I didn’t know what it was until we learned about, it’s a great tool.

@doctor2pi Parents & teachers can use gmail, class dojo, remind, Zoom, etc to communicate with one another. They can keep each other updated and ensure that they are doing what’s best for the child’s well-being #CSUBTED #CSUBEDTE4200 @Ststansberry

@WalesK2319 @doctor2pi @BarnellNicole Hello Kallista! This is a great suggestion. I never thought to utilize forms in this way, but this is something I can definitely see myself implementing.

@doctor2pi A1) I can use technology such as group me, Google meets, zoom, email, etc. to stay in touch with students and speak to students privately about assignments or just general check ins to enhance relationships with my future students. #CSUBTED #CSUBEDTE4200 @Ststansberry
