Guys, I need your honest opinions. For those of you who have done dairy farming before, you’ve seen my post about the heifer I got from @Kimani__Ke . Yule jamaa wa Joyland Breeders (+254708071025). I shared their contact in case anyone is looking to buy one. The cow has already calved and my parents are now getting over 25 litres per day. It’s a pure Friesian. Sometimes they even milk it three times a day. Now I’m thinking of adding another one. Which breed should I go for? I believe if they have two cows and I get them a shamba boy, things will run smoothly and they’ll make good money. Next year my sister will be joining upper secondary, and I don’t want to pay fees out of pocket. I want the milk income to handle that. Should I add another Friesian, or go for Ayrshire, Jersey, or even a good crossbreed? I’m looking for something easy to manage but still with high milk yield.
