Rikers Island is named after Richard Riker, a former judge in NY, who was a member of the "Kidnapper's Club". He would work with people who would kidnap free Black men women & children, send them to his court & sentence them back into slavery #CloseRikers #NoNewJails #MassBailout

When the DA’s heard about the #massbailout they had an emergency meeting about setting bail even higher / remanding folks so they cannot be bailed out at all. This clearly shows how invested the DAs, racist courts and city govt are in the caging & slavery of Black & Brown people.

#MassBailout rally took over the streets of Brooklyn earlier today after having a speakout outside Brooklyn Boro Hall. They marched to where a new jail is supposed to be built as part of Mayor de Blasio’s plan to close the notoriously brutal Rikers Island jail. #NoNewJailsNYC
