@NickNairn We had a couple last night decide not to dine because it was 'too busy'
Been telling people we were fully booked for 2 days previous.
Very frustrating.

@ruth0310 @gilescoren Congratulations Ruth, a great review! Very much matches my thoughts when I took my mum for Friday lunch, you must be incredibly proud.

Flabbergasted! So proud of my little dream team, fab suppliers, and the best community. Come say Hi!

@MeatOneVegBlog @natoon0 100% agree, although not clearly a criteria used by all judges. See also: scampi fries // dogs // 4 pints // shorts (or walking boots or work ware)
All that being said, I like the list and use it when out and about. I would hate to be called a gastro pub too. It's a pub.
English

@MBarnett_84 @natoon0 If it means anything, I believe that as a bare minimum you should be able to go in for just a pint in a bar area.
English

@MeatOneVegBlog @natoon0 It's one of my favourite can of worms. I would love to be on the list; definitely agree Wildmoor Oak should be; lots of others come close, it's a bit disheartening as an operator when out and out restaurants are included. Not a whinger; will just work harder.
English

@mooramana @GaryUsher_ @BuRntTruffle Sad indeed. Tough to make a living. Currently working on a Persian night, a raclette night, a beer and food pairing night, tapas, new menu all whilst supposed to be on holiday. What a life! Still, I feel lucky. Lucky to do a job I love.
English

@MBarnett_84 @GaryUsher_ @BuRntTruffle Sad to see your neighbours at The Stavely Arms have shut up shop. Difficult times out there just now
English

@EaterWriter probably that. Don't think I realised how readily available it was. Picked up 2 more 2012s, narrowly missed put on 3 2009s which is a shame. It currently sits in my rotating 'something special' list but might add it as a permanent.
English

@MBarnett_84 It seems to be very widely available in the uk which is likely why? Other growths less ubiquitous
English

@EaterWriter undecided whether to stick with Ch Bat or choose something different. People seem to gravitate towards it in a way that i haven't seen with other wines. (We have a 2016 Moulin Riche that nobody has even mentioned) Even their 2nd wine gets people, excited. We will see.
English

@MBarnett_84 I have 2011 and 2013 which are very much still alive. Poss this one not stored very well by previous owner
English

@MeatOneVegBlog Thanks for this. I grew up in Bromsgrove and still head back to visit my mum so will go next visit. Took her to The Wildmoor Oak on the last visit and had a great time.

For people that like pubs and history.
James Wright@jpwarchaeology
There are many claims for the oldest pub in Britain. The most famous is the Trip to Jerusalem at Nottingham: reputedly opened 1189, but this was invented in 1909 by the landlord. In reality its a 17thC building that was used as a pub by 1751. So which is the oldest? ...a thread🧵
English

@dieworkwear Could use this to find a replacement for your original and best ruck sack.
English

@paulspencer1973 would always drink Bathams with my dad from 16 to 37. Such fond memories. Bromagrove, Stourbridge, all over. A beer filled with wonderful memories.
English

@AndyLynes @the__wilderness I've got the 2019 version of that wine at the pub. Beautiful stuff.
English

What a treat and a fantastic way to end a week of serious eating and drinking at @the__wilderness

English

@TimMcKenna01 I lived in Toulouse in 05/06. My favourite place for Cassoulet was Au Gascon. And I loved an oyster with a beer in the market.
English

@PXandTarts Did St Nicks Market for lunch (Moroccan) followed by Marmo for dinner. Great day out, thanks for the tips. Cheers
English

@MBarnett_84 Nadu is great. If you want something a bit fancier, then Marmo or Cotto (if they are open). Or go to Wapping Wharf and go to Root, which is excellent.
English

@Tom_Warman_ @Masterofwhine I sold one of those at my pub just before Christmas, was lovely to have it on my list, but also lovely to see it enjoyed.
English

@Masterofwhine Worth the 14 year wait. I have a 2016 Pomerol that I’m tempted to open this Easter.
