The first meeting of the new incoming Bureau of the OACPS Committee of Ambassadors for the period Feb to Jul 2026 was held today at the OACPS HQ in Brussels. Presiding over the meeting was His Excellency, Ambassador Pa Musa Jobarteh of the Republic of The Gambia, in his role as Chair of the OACPS Committee of Ambassadors, also attended by the Secretary-General of the OACPS, H.E. Moussa Saleh Batraki (@mbatraki). The Bureau considered several discussion points including the upcoming agenda for the next and future schedule of Committee of Ambassadors (CoA) Meetings, preparations for the upcoming 11th OACPS Heads of State and Government Summit to be held in Malabo, Equatorial Guinea March 27–29, 2026 and other issues of strategic importance to OACPS Member States. OACPS Bureau consists of Ambassadors who are nominated by their regional peers, to serve as the representatives of each of the six Regions of the OACPS. During the 120th Session of the OACPS Council of Ministers, Member States observed a minute of silence in memory of the victims of recent natural disasters that have affected several regions of the world. This moment of reflection was dedicated in particular to the populations impacted by Hurricane Melissa, which struck the Caribbean region, especially Jamaica, as well as to the victims of the catastrophes linked to Cyclone Senyar in Southeast Asia, notably Indonesia.
