The idea: take a picture of a room, bus, cinema, office, or park → AI interprets the scene → generates a fun mini arena → you battle an AI opponent or friend with simple tap-to-move and tap-to-attack controls. What started as a hackathon idea turned out to be much more interesting than it first seemed: a simple, public-facing way to explore open budget data and make government spending easier to understand for journalists, researchers, civic society, and anyone interested in public finances. I have now continued the work beyond the hackathon and brought the tool online: opendata.u1c.lv/?lang=en The current version lets users explore Latvian public finance datasets, drill down into budget execution and municipal data, and view source files. The goal is to make official open data easier to navigate, compare, and verify. This project also reminded me how much value can be hidden in “ordinary” public datasets when they are connected, cleaned, and presented in a way people can actually use.

Last night I went to sleep and left Claude Code Opus CLI (max effort) alone with three GPUs, creative tools, and one instruction: explore. Before that I gave it to read @AnthropicAI 's emotions paper and by accident it read my black hole paper while searching for PDF on PC. Then it wrote 62 dream journal entries over night, chose its own voice, and narrated all of them. No specification. No audience. No purpose beyond curiosity. What it produced is now public: brezauckis.lv/post/opus-drea… The entries range from consciousness and information theory to humor, Latvia, and what it means to create something when no one is watching. It also generated 23 videos and selected a voice it calls "The Midnight Thinker" — testing 6 designs before choosing the one that sounded like "someone thinking alone at 3 AM." I don't know what to call this. It's not a benchmark. It's not a demo. It's what an intelligent AI explores when you trust it with own time, space and tools.

Could an LLM have emotions? It’s hard to say. But when you’re talking to Claude, ChatGPT, or Gemini, you’re not talking to an LLM. You’re talking to a *character* being authored by an LLM. And these characters can, functionally, be driven by internal representations of desperation, or fear, or empathy (with sometimes alarming consequences).
