Today we honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. Their sacrifice secured the freedoms we enjoy every day, and we owe them a debt that can never truly be repaid.
Wishing everyone a safe and meaningful Memorial Day as we take time to reflect on the true meaning of today.

This investment from the U.S. Department of Commerce and IBM in a new quantum foundry at Albany NanoTech is another strong sign that our region is where the future of semiconductor and quantum innovation is being built. It builds on years of work here in Albany County to grow high-tech manufacturing, and it means more opportunity ahead for our workforce and our local economy. I want to thank Senator Chuck Schumer and New York’s entire federal delegation for their continued advocacy in helping bring major investments like this home to the Capital Region. I look forward to working with our partners to make sure this investment delivers real results for our community.

Yesterday, Chief Communications Officer Mary Rozak attended the grand opening of the new box lacrosse facility at DiCaprio Park on my behalf. Albany County contributed $200,000 in American Rescue Plan Act funding to help bring this vision to life.
