Today is one of those days that reminded me why I left everything to come train at BCH. I feel so inspired by the amazing faculty we have and their research projects. So lucky to be able to present in front of them ❤️couldn’t be here without my Mayo mentors and now my BCH mentors

The United States condemns in the strongest possible terms the attempted assassination of Senator Miguel Uribe. This is a direct threat to democracy and the result of the violent leftist rhetoric coming from the highest levels of the Colombian government. Having seen firsthand Colombia’s progress over the past few decades to consolidate security and democracy, it can’t afford to go back to dark days of political violence. President Petro needs to dial back the inflammatory rhetoric and protect Colombian officials. We stand in prayer with Miguel’s family, loved ones, and his supporters. Those responsible for this attack must face justice.

@petrogustavo Señor petro, esto no es una pregunta sobre la belleza de Colombia. Muchas personas de su país tienen visas de diferentes motivos (no solo de turismo) y necesitan esas citas en la embajada. Dejé de vivir en un mundo idealista de Gabriel García Márquez y dedíquese a gobernar.

No pierdan tiempo. No tenemos visas. Entrábamos por derecho pero no importa. El.mundo es mucho más hermoso, y Colombia la más.

Propongo una delegación de Alcaldes de Colombia 🇨🇴 para viajar a Washington y procurar que el gobierno de Estados Unidos 🇺🇸 en cabeza de @realDonaldTrump entienda que Petro no nos representa. Estados Unidos ha sido, por más de cien años, un aliado estratégico de nuestro país. Durante diferentes gobiernos ha contribuido a nuestra seguridad nacional, crecimiento económico y al despliegue del turismo internacional. Con mucho esfuerzo y construcción de confianza, Colombia se convirtió en uno de los grandes aliados comerciales de Estados Unidos y uno de los principales de Suramérica. Petro ha puesto todo esto en peligro. Desde Medellín, y seguramente desde otras ciudades también, estamos completamente dispuestos a recibir a los migrantes Colombianos deportados. Que puedan volver a casa y tener oportunidades aquí. Ya Estados Unidos castiga de manera categórica a Petro, a su gobierno, a su partido y los aliados que nos llevan hacia un salto al vacío sin paracaídas. Y la arrogancia de @petrogustavo hace que hoy se castigue todo un país con las medidas arancelarias que se acaban de tomar y con el cierre de los procesos de visado. Alcaldes, Gobernadores y ciudadanos opuestos al gobierno: no podemos permitir que Petro nos lleve a un estado de aislamiento como el que lograron sus amigos y cómplices en Cuba y Venezuela.

Todos los países tienen autonomía para fijar sus lineamientos migratorios y las condiciones que definen sus respectivos estatus de legalidad. EE.UU. ha enviado deportados a Colombia y otros países durante décadas por no cumplir las normas migratorias y los países receptores deben establecer los protocolos de dichos procedimientos. De la misma manera es un deber moral de Colombia recibir en su país a los compatriotas deportados. En un acto de tremenda irresponsabilidad, el Gobierno Petro ha desafiado una decisión soberana de los EE.UU. sin siquiera adelantar un proceso de diálogo diplomático, desconociendo las relaciones bilaterales que por más de 200 años han tenido los dos países. Estás bravuconadas populistas del gobierno Petro frente a una decisión de seguridad nacional de los EE.UU., están desatando medidas sancionatorias cuyo costo para el país y sus ciudadanos son enormes. Es urgente que el gobierno Petro ponga al país por encima de sus prejuicios populistas y su retórica anti - EE.UU. y establezca a la brevedad los protocolos para recibir deportados colombianos, y evite una situación que puede afectar estructuralmente a nuestra economía y nuestros ciudadanos. Es curioso que la actitud torpe y desafiante aplicada por el gobierno Petro a los EE.UU., nunca fue aplicada a las inadmisiones y deportaciones masivas que países como México ha aplicado a muchos colombianos. Urgente que prevalezca la diplomacia y el cerebro por encima de los arrebatos y caprichos ideológicos del gobierno Petro.

Mucha gente me ayudo antes a lograr la meta de ser doctor en Estados Unidos y ya toca pagarlo. Voy a empezar a aceptar gente para rotar conmigo para ganar experiencia en Estados Unidos, los interesados pueden mandarme mensaje privado.
