It is standard of care to test for HLA-B*15:02 prior to starting Carbamazepine and Oxcarbazepine. In this new paper, we discuss the risk of developing SJS/TENS with other anticonvulsants in patients with this allele.

@RAPMOnline @ESchwenkMD @dr_rajgupta @ASRA_Society I'm not convinced that we can reliably perform an ultrasound guided suprazygomatic maxillary nerve block. In most current ultrasound descriptions, the lateral pterygoid plate is way too shallow. It is more likely the ramus of the mandible.
