Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich is proposing EVEN MORE tax & fee increases in his FY27 budget, including income tax and property tax hikes.
Fortunately, thanks to the work of the Montgomery County GOP to enact term limits on the County Executive, this will be Elrich's last budget. However, if his replacement is another far-left Democrat, the tax increases will keep coming.
If Montgomery County wants a better path forward, electing Republicans this November is the only way.

House Republican Leader Jason Buckel & House Republican Whip Jesse Pippy break down exactly how Maryland Democrats have failed us on energy prices, and the alternatives that the GOP is offering:

Yesterday, the House of Delegates debated HB 1532– the Democrats' embarrassingly inadequate "energy cost relief" bill. House Republicans fought and debated for hours, offering more than 18 amendments to improve the legislation.
These amendments would have waived unnecessary fees, delivered more meaningful relief on energy bills, and reformed state policy to allow increased energy development– saving Maryland ratepayers hundreds of additional dollars and addressing the state's long-term energy crisis.
Democrats rejected EVERY SINGLE ONE of them.
Republicans are the only party in Annapolis fighting to actually lower your electricity bills.

It's common sense. AND - the small amount of "relief" in the current Democratic Frankenstein energy bill being debated in House today is there because of our fight - we just need the majority party to expand and fully halt the EmPower Fee and the RGGI energy tax and we could see this kind of real ratepayer relief!

Maryland Republicans' Energy Legislation would save ratepayers over 3 TIMES as much as the Democrats plan while also making long-term reforms to increase in-state energy production. Republicans are the only party in Annapolis serious about solving Maryland's energy bill crisis.

Tens of thousands of dollars in campaign contributions and almost all of it was spent on meals, out-of-state-travel, and casino nights.
Maryland Democrats: fiscally irresponsible with your tax dollars, fiscally irresponsible with your campaign contributions.

The fox is now guarding the hen house. Wes Moore appointed a crony to be Inspector General for Maryland's largest, and fastest growing, expenditure–Public Education– and the Democrat Attorney General and General Assembly rubber stamped it.
This can only happen in a state controlled by one party. Vote for two-party rule this November– Maryland desperately needs it!

Wes Moore and Maryland Democrats big plan to lower energy bills is expected to save you about $12 per month.
That's it. $12.
After years of driving up energy costs to record-highs with excessive fees and bad policy, their solution is embarassingly inadequate.

Nothing to see here folks! Wes Moore is an infamous liar, but you can DEFINITELY trust him when he says he isn't running for President in 2028...🙄

Maryland needs an Inspector General.
An IG in this state could identify hundreds of millions of dollars of waste in our government, and independently investigate claims of misconduct, corruption, and fraud by state officials. It's just common sense to create this office.
Maryland Republicans and Delegate Ryan Nawrocki are leading the way on establishing a Maryland Inspector General with HB 1449, and the General Assembly must pass this bill!

As Governor Wes Moore argues that Maryland doesn’t need an Inspector General—an independent watchdog that would hold his administration accountable—he is spending millions of taxpayer dollars on outside consultants to do work an IG could perform for a fraction of the cost.
No more excuses. Maryland needs an Inspector General.

Analysts say Wes Moore would be ineffective in a hypothetical second term because he has destroyed his relationship with the General Assembly.
We say he would be ineffective because he'd spend all of his time running for President, and his administration is totally incompetent!

Not in an election year.
Wes Moore has been kicking the structural deficit can down the road his entire term, just trying to get through 2026. If he’s re-elected, the tax increases will be MASSIVE.
