@FmrTankCommandr @ilikethisteam11 @jespvg It could be seen both ways. On one hand maybe it’s reflective of a poor overall attitude that won’t get better. The other side could be it was an isolated bad relationship which won’t be a problem moving forward with a different coach/motivator. And it’s all speculation anyway.

@ilikethisteam11 @FmrTankCommandr @jespvg Very bad trait if that’s the case, but it adds up if viewed through the lens of him not liking Mosley. Go through the motions in low stakes games bc I’m not happy with the coach. Maybe he gets canned at some point. Oh shit it’s the playoffs now and I need to actually play

@FmrTankCommandr @jespvg Starting with the Charlotte game he was moving completely differently. Seeing that, it’s kinda hard for me to come to a conclusion other than he was sandbagging in the regular season. Which is a bad look in and of itself, but at least something controllable and not physical?

@jespvg I mean there's definitely some worry there but the fact that he got more athletic as the season went on, indicates to me something went wrong in the off-season.

That’s a legit F2 and you don’t see a lot of those. They won’t call it though

How exactly does the “assistant coach who would be a good candidate for head coach” determination start? I hadn’t heard the name Sean Sweeney until 2 weeks ago. Remember when David Vanterpool was the can’t miss guy and then no one hired him? Who is making the assessment and how?

Wow the worst team got the number one pick and that’s bad for some reason. Hey let’s update things so this is much less likely to happen @nba good thinkin

Weltman gave a couple of decent answers and otherwise stuck to the greatest hits of injuries, not rocking the boat, etc. Didn’t inspire a ton of confidence. Their hands are tied cap-wise but definitely feels like he’s just praying for a healthy season to save us.

@jespvg Maybe you’re right. It’s very uninspiring to me but I also don’t have an answer on what would be inspiring. Lotta Mystery Box guys. I just can’t help but associate Donovan with the Bulls carousel of mediocrity, and perhaps that’s unfair.

The very anti Billy Donovan crowd is strange given what he’s been able to do with Benny the Bull and Kenny Beecham as his two best players Literally every fanbase hates their coach and wants them to die, the Magic just need a little bit of competency

The only coach mentioned in the Robbins piece is Billy D. Yeah we’re cooked. I know how important the hire is and how that makes people concerned about a first time coach. But, like, shouldn’t that also disincentivize you from hiring a mediocre retread? What’s Billy’s ceiling?

Brutal timing in the Franz injury bc this series was over with him. Can’t control it. What they can control is a new coach, and as long as they don’t botch that decision this team will be much better. And they need to stay healthy of course which maybe is the impossible part.

@ilikethisteam11 @KeithSmithNBA The Celtics lost game 7 by 9 points at home to cap off Philly’s recovery from a 3-1 deficit. But that doesn’t tell the whole story. Scoreless Hugo Gonzalez’s four fouls injected a dose of energy into the game for Boston. My column

Couple of positives for the Celtics from Game 7: -Neemias Queta played really well, aside from a couple of bad fouls. He should be a big part of whatever the center rotation is next season. -Hugo Gonzalez had a huge impact, despite not scoring. Future is very bright for him.
