Genocide. Domicide. Urbicide. Ecocide. I’m running out of words to describe the devastation of the town of Khiam, which is inside the illegal Israeli ‘security zone’ in southern Lebanon. The Israeli army has razed the entire town to the ground and destroyed the 100 year old Khiam detention center, placing an illegal military base on the ruins of it.

It amazes me how casually some people call Iran the aggressor without even reading the MoU. The agreement makes it clear that, during the 60-day interim period, Iran would facilitate and manage traffic through the Strait of Hormuz. Now ask yourself one simple question: if ships were already passing safely under that arrangement, why did the U.S. encourage ships to use the Omani side of the Strait instead? The answer is straightforward. Iran’s leverage over Hormuz was never acceptable to Washington. First Israel openly challenged the spirit of the MoU. Then the U.S. did the same. While Iran was burying its leaders, Washington moved to alter the status quo in the Strait. From Tehran’s perspective, that crossed a red line.

The U.S. government is now borrowing about $155 billion every month and paying nearly $24 billion every week just in interest. The federal deficit reached roughly $1.4 trillion during the first nine months of fiscal year 2026, already higher than the same stretch last year. Net interest costs hit $857 billion, up about 13 percent, because the debt is larger and long-term rates are higher. That means interest payments alone now cost more than the combined spending of the Departments of Defense, Commerce, Homeland Security and Education, along with the EPA and Small Business Administration. The national debt was already approaching $39.4 trillion, and the CBO projects another $1.9 trillion deficit this year. Deficits this large used to be associated with recessions or national emergencies. Every $24 billion sent out in weekly interest is money that can’t repair roads, support schools, lower healthcare costs or reduce taxes. It simply pays for yesterday’s borrowing. This is Trump running America like every other Trump business.
