Tamil Nadu is such a strange case, like what exactly are they punishing the DMK for? The State has performed incredibly well on the economic front, it's doing way better than almost every other state on nearly every single measure. Just for the sake of Anti Incumbency?

@Rustum_0 Your "38% Muslim land given in charity" is nonsense. These were dynastic nawabs ruling Hindu majorities, not eternal Muslim property. Awadh annexed 1856, Bengal power lost 1757. Stop adding random centuries-old maps like bad math. History = conquest, not your victim fanfic. Cope.

Hindus owned nothing in the first place to make any charity. In fact, around 38% of India (1,250,727 km²) was Indian Muslim sovereign landmass, which was given to Hindus in charity by the British. Here is a rough estimate (#read_in_full): The Nazimate of Bengal, Bihar and Orissa (≈431,608 Km²), with its power base in Murshidabad (India), extended over modern West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, Tripura, the districts of Kokrajhar, Dhubri, Chirang, Bongaigaon, Goalpara, South Salmara-Mankachar in Assam, and present-day Bangladesh. In 1947, the British transferred ≈283,148 km² to the Indian Republic (Hindu dominated) and ≈148,460 km² to the Pakistani Republic (dominated by Sindhu Muslims). The Nawabate of Awadh (≈152,923 Km²) covered most of Uttar Pradesh except Mirzapur, Chitrakoot, Jhansi, Agra, Aligarh, Meerut, and Saharanpur divisions, and was transferred to India in 1947. The Nawabate of Shamsher Bahadur (≈32,269 Km²) based in Banda, the Khudadad Sarkar of Tipu Sahib (≈253,800 Km²), and the Nawabate of Carnatic (≈44,700 Km²) were also integrated into India in 1947. The Northern Sarkar and Guntoor Sarkar of the Nizamate of Hyderabad (≈78,000 Km²), along with the Nizam's gains in Ahmadnagar and Bijapur (≈12,940 Km²) in War with Peshwa, were transferred to the Indian Republic in 1947. Ali Rajas of Arakkal held the Lakshadweep Islands (32.62 Km²), which were transferred to the Indian Republic by the British in 1947. Sheikh Imad-ud-din (born in Hoshiarpur, India) had seized and established his overlordship over Himachal and Jammu-Kashmir, with power base in Srinagar (Jammu, India), covering ≈111,211 Km². The British removed his overlordship. Today, the Himachal (55,673 Km²) and Jammu & Kashmir UT (42,241 Km²) are parts of the Indian Republic, while Pakistan holds 13,297 Km². From 1856, the Indian Muslims ruled ≈295,000 Km² in form of the Princely States, until 1947, after which these territories were integrated into the Indian Republic within a year. In total: The Indian Muslims Lost Amal (Rule) Over ≈1,412,484 Km² due to the British colonialism.

@Rustum_0 Indian Muslim identity is shaped by a blend of Persian and Indian cultures, in which local Muslims initially had limited influence. The kings and elites that some people admire often did not consider themselves ‘Hindustani’ Muslims.

Similarly, Hindus have hijacked the "Indian" identity. In fact, the "Hindu" identity (not term) itself is an Indian Muslim construct. (#read_full) Circa 1150, a Khwarezmian prince is recorded by the name "Hindu Khan" (lit, the Indian lord). At that time, almost all Indians had never even encountered the term Hindu, and Islam had not yet established itself in India as a political power. When Islam emerged in India as an independent political force after 1192–93, the earliest Indian known to style himself with the title "Hindu" was Malik Hindu Khan Mihtar-i Mubarak, circa 1210. His title may be rendered as "Lord the Indian Khan, the Blessed Chief". He was reportedly a Vedic convert to Islam, served as Imperial Treasurer, and was Lord of the governorships of Uchh and Jalandhar. Likewise, figures bearing names such as Hindu Beg (Indo-Muslim) and Gholam Ali Hindu Shah also appear in historical records. Isami, himself an Indo-Persian, describes the Indo-Muslim forces led by Malik Kafur (a local convert) which defeated the Mongols, as "Hinduwan" (Indians). Those forces included men of varied backgrounds: Muslim Mongols, Muslim Turks, local Vedic converts, Muslim Tajiks etc.. This strongly suggests that these Muslims were fully conscious of the fact that they were Indian-born and identified collectively as Indians. In short, "Hindu" originally functioned widely as a regional or ethnocultural identifier, and Muslims adopted it freely in names and titles. Its transformation into a primarily religious identity during the late eras of the Indo-Muslim rule. ——— A similar process is now unfolding with the Indian identity, and it has been remarkably successful. Indian Muslims number around 220 million, which is roughly 53% of the Muslim population of North Africa and the Middle East combined. Muslims are not some insignificant minority in India either, they make up about 16% of India’s population. Yet their presence is overlooked, as the Indian identity is increasingly (mis)appropriated as exclusively Hindu by the Hindus and non-Indians both.

As an Asian, I believe we should revive the usage of the term "Oriental" to distinguish East Asians from South Asians, Arabs, and other races in Asia Everyone knows we're extremely different, yet we're lumped together simply because we share the same continent

@Rustum_0 It funny how muslim Kang on elite Muslim and Muslim monarchy. Muslim princely states never was "own" by Muslim King. It is land of people live there which are majority of non- Muslim. Muslim themselves take there share of land and build pakistan and Bangladesh.

Hindus owned nothing in the first place to give anything. It is like Hindus saying they gave Europe to Europeans. In reality, ~10% of India consisted of Muslim princely states that were integrated into the Indian Republic. Also, Muslims did a favour on Hindu by partioning India and creating Pakistan which united Hindu numerical strength and revived unprecedented Hindu political strength.
