@Hannah_R_Snyder I do not, never did, and never will complete long-horizon assignments using the “structure and scaffolding” you describe. Having multiple assigned steps of topic proposals, abstracts, bibliographies, outlines, drafts, etc is just extra useless work for me.

TLDR: Please provide the structure (including deadlines) and scaffolding that students with executive functioning difficulties need to succeed. You can and should still be flexible with extensions, but lack of deadlines is not helpful for the most vulnerable students. /fin

I've been seeing some posts from well-intentioned faculty about eliminating all deadlines in their classes. I study #ExecutiveFunction, #stress and #mentalhealth in college #students, and I'm here to tell you this will hurt the students you are trying to help. . . 1/buckle up

@ashleyshoo I've had kids absolutely THRIVE from ABA, but its not a fix-all and it does not help every child. There's many alternatives, but don't bash the families who have tried everything and ABA is the only one that works. Y'all clearly don't know how it feels to have a special needs kid
