Meet 68 yo. Sirenna Beyer aka KC Hoop Girl at 58 years of age her physician informed her that she needed to make some lifestyle changes because her blood pressure and cholesterol were too high, right after leaving that appointment around 2017–2018, she happened to see a hula hoop dancing video that instantly mesmerized her. She decided on the spot to give it a try — bought her first hoop that same week, embraced her "inner child," and started practicing daily in her living room (often to 1970s soul music). She taught herself waist hooping for the first six months before expanding her skills. It quickly became life-changing: she lost around 35–40 pounds, dropped inches from her waist, improved her blood pressure and cholesterol, toned up, and found a fun, low-impact exercise she actually loved (unlike traditional workouts that bored her). That success inspired her to get certified as a NASM hoop dance fitness instructor, start teaching classes, and eventually launch KC Hoop Girl as a business for performances and entertainment. Fun fact: Kansas City’s airport uses a private security contractor instead of TSA. Security agents in KC wear grey shirts and not the standard TSA blue. The only other major airports that do this are San Francisco and Orlando.

Stumbled on something interesting: In 1991, this 65-year-old woman named Margareta was driving through the swedish countryside when a massive hole in the ground caught her eye. She stopped to get a closer look. It was a good 200 feet deep. Turned out it was a limestone quarry from the early 1900s. Imagine the eeriness. Everybody else had ignored it for a couple decades since it'd been abandoned. But Margareta, a retired opera singer, saw (and heard) something. With a ton of determination, raising funds from donors and several municipal governments, she pulled it off. Just 3 yrs later, that quarry roared to life with its first concert. Today, Dalhalla is one of the most unique & premier outdoor venues in the world. Be a Margareta ❤️
