Too many of Britain’s young are not working. Labour has a plan to fix that. Long term problem deserving a serious answer. Hiring bonuses for employers. Boosting youth apprenticeships for small businesses. Help for the long term youth unemployed. telegraph.co.uk/news/2026/03/2…

@DeborahMeaden That our welfare bill exceeds our tax receipts is the most worrying thing. Anyone with a basic knowledge of economics would understand that is not a sustainable position.

Anyone on a pension needs to worry about the Welfare bashing… the fake narratives… it is included in the Welfare numbers being bandied around and I am pretty sure you consider it your right having paid in all those years..

@EnergyMix_UK Withiut coal, gas & oil you can not make “clean” energy. Without gas & oil you can not make most of the equipment that hospitals rely on.

The Thatcher-worshipping people on X are the same people who are saying we should be getting rich on our own oil and gas. "Thick" doesn't even begin to describe them.

@bphillipsonMP @james4edcentral @tracygilbert72 @ScottishLabour The SNP show us what a mistake devolution was. So much waste that could have been spent much more effectively. In the wider UK, in less than 2 years the scars and failure of Labour are everywhere. British politicians have proven themselves totally incapable of governing.

@bodman_mike There is no such thing as publicly owned. The BBC is publicly funded but the public have no ownership or control. But at least it is still allowed to criticise the government.

Really is getting embarrassing and quite frightening that a public owned media outlet is blatantly attacking the government on a daily basis, nothing about Reforms tax avoidance, Farage’s TikTok posts, Patel’s blocking of Andrew’s investigation or the Covid findings, shameful !!

There is something very sad about the region which lost the most to Brexit choosing to vote for a party that is exclusively run by those who inflicted it on them. Lemmings that simply can’t help themselves.

@bphillipsonMP @educationgovuk The breakfast clubs are NOT free - they are tax payer funded and the amount the govt give to schools does not cover the cost, the remainder comes out of schools core budget. Everyone loses.

This government is focused on the cost of living. At @educationgovuk, we're saving families cash: £450 on free breakfast clubs £50 on school uniforms £500 on free school meals £300 on school holiday clubs Now it's confirmed we've halved childcare costs, saving parents £8,000.

@TheCruncher76 It was excellent 1st half in terms of possesion, dominance and chances, but I just wish some of the players had the confidence to put their foot through it & shoot instead of trying to dribble the ball in.

Excellent first half, credit to Millwall who got up the pitch and didnt let us dominate the ball Moving Clarke to the right killed our attacking threat, subs just didn't get in the game #itfc

British politicians now speak about returning to the EU. As a European, this makes me truly happy. I will support this with all my strength, so that when the British people decide to come back, they will find an open door waiting for them. Because we are one European family 🇪🇺🇬🇧

When even London’s mayor @SadiqKhan @MayorofLondon says the UK cannot afford to drift between Trump’s tariffs, geopolitical shocks and the long shadow of Brexit, it’s time to listen — in Britain and beyond. Sadiq Khan’s message is clear: the illusion of sovereignty has come at a real cost, with weaker growth and less influence. In an unstable world, standing alone is not strength. Rebuilding a close partnership with Europe is not nostalgia — it is a strategic necessity.

@DavidMcGregorBN Labour bankrupted the country in the 1970s, in the 2000s we had the dot.com bust, followed by the illegal Iraq/Afganistan invasions, 2 counts of corruption for Mandelson, who was rewarded with a Lordship, sold our gold reserves and crashed the economy in 2008.

People say “the 2 party system doesn’t work” as if both parties have been equally useless. One party smashes the country to bits. Labour comes in and has to rebuild it. It was true after Thatcher. And it’s true again after 14 years of Tory decline.

@stellacreasy You make a sweeping assumption. Many immigrants coming here create jobs and contribute to our economy. Others are uneducated and come for the prospect of an easy life, or oerhaps a life of crime.

He almost .. ...almost....ah nope he's missed the point. Again. Immigrants coming here create jobs and contribute to our economy. Making it harder for them to do that after they are already here will mean they are more likely to end up in poverty. Its a lose lose for everyone and why we're seeking to change this policy.
Neil O'Brien@NeilDotObrien

Labour now simultaneously saying immigration is brilliant rocket fuel for our economy and that these migrants are in desperate need of benefits. Erm...
