Cycling through Belgium and the Netherlands with the family this week. Brussels airport has a bike service center just outside arrivals for tourists to build their bikes. Such a great welcome! They took our bike boxes to reuse for departing cyclists. Next stop: Antwerp 🇧🇪 🚲

Just look at this DANGEROUS & RECKLESS CYCLIST. They clearly haven’t paid road tax, nor passed any test - and has absolutely no registration plate or speedo… He did have a massive grin on his face, though. First go on the road, and was very proud!

Does that give me twice the rights to use the road than someone who only pays VED on one vehicle? Does the fact that one of my VEDs is a high rate also give me extra priority and rights? As part of #vulnerableroadusers week here is some advice for cyclists on submitting high quality evidence. 1 - a fixed camera provides a good frame of reference to measure distance. /1

@RaymonRutten @SaferRoadsYorks Couple of pointers on your measurements: 1. There is absolutely no chance you’re fitting two of those grates in that gap. Maybe 1.3 at best. 3. You’ve done the classic wheel-to-wheel measurement. 🙈 What about handlebars (+25cm), elbows (+10cm) or wing mirror? (+14cm)?
