Shortly after midnight, Morton Grove Police & Fire responded to a transformer fire in the 5900 block of Dempster St. WB Dempster is down to one lane, with the curb lane closed between Marmora & Austin for the foreseeable future. The public is advised to avoid the area.

The Morton Grove Police Department was awarded 1st Place in the Illinois Association of Chiefs of Police (ILACP) Traffic Safety Challenge in the Municipal (36–50 officers) category. We also received the Railroad Crossing Safety Award.
