Then he was apprenticed to Sangen Odashimaryu Tokuo ODASHIMA the second. At seven years old, he performed at the Tsugaru Shamisen World Convention in Hirosaki, Aomori, becoming the youngest performer in the event’s history. In 2004, at the age of 14, he became the youngest winner of the competition’s top A Level, winning the title for three consecutive years (2004–2006) and earning a place in the Tsugaru Shamisen Hall of Fame. Asano made his major debut with Victor Entertainment in 2007 and has since performed with a wide range of artists across genres including classical, rock, jazz, and pop.
