While staying on through 2020 was not part of the original plan, it was my honor to serve the agency and work through new challenges brought on by the pandemic. I am confident that the agency is well positioned to begin its new chapter. Full details: mobilityauthority.com/ED-departure

A study of 86,000 collisions in 2020 shows record-setting crash rates in the U.S. 27% of the surveyed drivers admitted to using their cell phone within 60 seconds of the impact. Together, we must commit to ending this needless crisis: bit.ly/3bbRNov

One of the very few silver linings of having less traffic across roadways is that many transportation organizations have been able to make substantial progress on their mobility projects. For example we were able to open 2 of the 3 flyovers on 290/130 ahead of schedule this year.

74% of Austinites drove to work or school alone in 2019. The City hopes to reduce this number to 50% over the next 20 years in an effort to reduce CO2 emissions and reduce our overall travel time. Read about what it's going to take to reach that goal: bit.ly/2HijbVA
