Michigan House of Representatives I Official X Account of Republican Caucus I @RepMattHall, Speaker of the House

The new state budget: ✅No tax hikes ✅No fee hikes 📉Smaller than last year How did we do it? 1⃣ Locked in more funding for road repairs last year 2⃣ Eliminated taxes on tips, overtime and social security. For the first time, someone made the Democrats do more with less

Another major win in the budget this year -- another part of the Hall Ethics Accountability & Transparency (🔥HEAT🔥) plan will be signed into law. We are closing the revolving door that lets politicians negotiate with special interests for their next job while they're supposed to be on the job for us. One Democrat rep even got paid to lobby in another state while she was supposed to be serving in the Legislature here in Michigan last term.🤦 No more!

"These reports have been sitting dormant for three years" Michigan House Republicans called on Joe Biden to reopen the investigation into Muskegon voter fraud when his administration swept it under the rug. Former clerks and state Reps Rachelle Smit and Jay DeBoyer understood that illegal activity was taking place and that it needed to be investigated and brought to light. We're glad @realDonaldTrump agrees. He is now reopening the case and will bring anyone who committed fraud to justice.

🚨MICHIGAN HOUSE REPUBLICANS SUPPORT THE SAVE ACT🇺🇸 From Lansing to D.C., we've been advocating for real ELECTION INTEGRITY🎙️ The vast majority of Americans believe ONLY U.S. CITIZENS should be able to register to vote and PHOTO ID MUST BE REQUIRED to vote🗳️ This is common sense.

Thank you @realdonaldtrump for your strong address to the nation tonight exposing criminal voter fraud and reopening the FBI investigation in Muskegon to restore faith in our elections. Michigan House Republicans repeatedly called on Joe Biden's FBI to stop slow walking this investigation into Muskegon voter fraud, but it never happened. I fully support President Trump directing FBI Director Patel to reopen this investigation to find all criminal activity. Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson should stop her obstruction and work with the Trump Administration to remove dead people and illegal aliens from Michigan's voter rolls.

What would this year's budget look like without House Republicans? We've been saying since last year's budget there were more ghost employees to cut in state government. Just as promised, we cut hundreds more this year.

📚MAKING REAL INVESTMENTS IN EDUCATION📚 Michigan reading scores are 44th in the nation. This budget funds our schools at record levels, gets back to basics, and supports teachers with new tools and resources. ✅Hall Universal Breakfast & lunch in Schools (HUBS) ✅Dual enrollment for every school and every student ✅Per-student funding increased $250 to $10,300 per student ✅LETRS training now in law to train teachers in the science of reading and improve Michigan reading scores ✅Mental health & school safety funding ✅New funding for tutoring, including pilot programs for parents to choose their own tutors ✅Funding for teacher bonuses, dual enrollment, buses, & early learning ✅Teacher fellowships opened up to every school and every student, allowing them to hire more teachers

Government should work for the people, not focus on politicized attacks on private businesses. Unfortunately, Democrats were just fine with the latter. Thanks to House Republicans, the new state budget limits the attorney general's ability to target people for political gain. No more weaponized lawsuits. No more endless attacks on job creators. No more abuse of taxpayer dollars for political theater.

What would this year's budget look like without House Republicans? Well, since government has grown over 40% since 2018, we could have expected more of the same. Instead, House Republicans forced a SMALLER BUDGET for the second year in a row, getting better value for dollars. Promises made, promises kept.

What would this year's budget look like without House Republicans? We've been saying since last year's budget there were more ghost employees to cut in state government. Just as promised, we cut hundreds more this year.

What would this year's budget look like without House Republicans? All year long, Democrats said we had to raid the state's rainy-day fund to pass the budget. Turns out all we needed was House Republicans doing the work and finding hundreds of millions of waste, fraud, & abuse in state government to pass a smaller budget than last year and keeping our rainy-day fund FULLY INTACT.

So proud of Lansing for entering the 21st Century.
