🚨 The widely used sugar alternative erythritol could be sabotaging your health.
A new study shows it erodes the blood-brain barrier and inhibits the body's natural ability to dissolve blood clots.
A new study from the University of Colorado suggests that erythritol, a sugar alcohol common in keto-friendly and sugar-free snacks, may directly damage the blood-brain barrier. By exposing cells to levels typically found after consuming a single sweetened beverage, researchers observed a spike in oxidative stress and the death of critical cells responsible for guarding the brain against toxins. This disruption shifts the body’s delicate chemical balance by reducing nitric oxide and increasing endothelin-1, causing blood vessels to constrict dangerously and potentially starving the brain of essential oxygen and nutrients.
Beyond physical vessel damage, the sweetener appears to sabotage the body’s innate defense against strokes by blocking the release of tissue plasminogen activator—a natural "clot-buster" that dissolves blockages before they can trigger a medical emergency. These laboratory findings align with large-scale human observational data showing that individuals with high erythritol levels are twice as likely to experience major cardiac events. While regulatory agencies currently deem the sweetener safe, these results prompt a serious re-evaluation of the long-term health trade-offs associated with popular sugar substitutes.

#PortCoquitlam’s Hyde Creek — normally, but a trickle, moving fast this afternoon at 550p PT | 18 March
The view from where it crosses under Lincoln Avenue — these creeks respond very quickly to heavy rain and meltwater.

Ukraine warned the world an authoritarian axis was forming. Russia. Iran. North Korea.
They were ignored.
Now that very same axis is coordinating attacks against the US.
And everyone is now shocked that an axis is behaving exactly like an axis.

Elephant Facts 🐘.
Elephants can hold their breath underwater for around 30 seconds to two minutes if fully submerged. But when swimming with their trunks above the surface acting as natural snorkels, they can stay mostly underwater for much longer, breathing easily while enjoying the sensation of feeling weightless.
Swimming and gentle diving are natural behaviors for elephants.
Time in the water helps them stay cool, provides low-impact exercise for their joints, and offers both physical and mental relaxation.
TongJan floats and soaks peacefully, occasionally dipping below the surface.

We started with simple kamikaze sea drones. Then we built drones with turrets that can shoot down helicopters. Now we have drones that can shoot down Russian fighter jets from the sea. We have developed boats that carry other drones. We also have boats that strike targets on land from the sea. And we are developing more stable drones that can operate longer and more effectively at sea. Soon – and not in the distant future – we will have systems that can operate even in ocean conditions. We are also actively working on underwater systems. So, facing threats in the Black Sea, we are finding the right security solutions.
These solutions can be used in your matters as well – including in complex situations like the Strait of Hormuz today. Drones can solve problems that even a fleet sometimes cannot.

Watch this intense and heart-wrenching video.
This hero spent 140 days on the front line. These are his first moments after returning.
Here’s what he says:
“I don’t want to remember anything. I want to forget it all. It’s a nightmare. It’s horrifying. You live for half a year with dozens of fallen comrades right next to you.”
“All I want now is to spend as much time as possible with my family.”
Remember the price Ukrainian defenders are paying.
