My take on the ceasefire Iran blinked. Just yesterday the regime rejected a temporary ceasefire and refused to meet in Islamabad. Over night they took President Trump’s threats seriously. There is no way to bridge Iran’s 10 points with America’s 15. So the outcome of negotiations depends on whether Iran accepts the fundamental U.S. demands: removal of highly enriched uranium, no further enrichment, dismantlement of ballistic missile and drone capacity, an end to funding and directing the regional proxies, and full reopening of the Strait of Hormuz. We’ll see soon enough.

If a deal is struck to end the Iranian conflict because it is believed that the Strait of Hormuz cannot be protected from Iranian terrorism and Iran still possesses the capability to destroy major Gulf oil infrastructure, then Iran will be perceived as being a dominate force requiring a diplomatic solution. This combination of Iran being perceived as having the ability to terrorize the Strait in perpetuity and the ability the inflict massive damage to Gulf oil infrastructure is a major shift of the balance of power in the region and over time will be a nightmare for Israel. Also, it makes one wonder why the war started to begin with if these perceptions are accurate. I personally am a skeptic of the idea that Iran cannot be denied the ability to terrorize the Strait and the region cannot protect itself against Iranian military capability. It is important we get this right.

I am deeply concerned about what we are hearing about an Iran “deal,” being pushed by some voices in the administration. President Trump’s decision to strike Iran was the most consequential decision of his second term. He was right to do so, and we achieved extraordinary military results—including destroying all of their missiles & drones and sinking their entire navy. If the result of all that is to be an Iranian regime—still run by Islamists who chant “death to America”—now receiving billions of dollars, being able to enrich uranium & develop nuclear weapons, and having effective control over the Strait of Hormuz, then that outcome would be a disastrous mistake. The details are still coming out—and I pray the early reports are wrong—but the fact that Biden’s Rob Malley is praising the deal is not encouraging. President Trump believes in peace through strength, and his strong leadership has already made America much safer. He should continue to hold the line, defend America & enforce the red lines he has repeatedly drawn.

This proposal is a bad joke. No serious American president — especially President Trump — would accept a deal that makes the JCPOA look brilliant by comparison. The regime has never been weaker, yet its arrogance is only exceeded by its grasp on reality.
Drop Site@DropSiteNews

🚨BREAKING: Iran has submitted a new proposal through regional mediators to end the U.S. war, according to a senior Iranian official who spoke to Drop Site News, while Trump reportedly weighs launching new strikes as soon as this weekend. The proposal splits negotiations into two tracks: ➤ Track 1: End the war first. Iran wants a formal declaration ending the war, an end to the U.S. naval blockade on Iranian ports, and the release of frozen Iranian assets before broader nuclear negotiations begin. In exchange, Iran would provisionally reopen the Strait of Hormuz, waive transit fees temporarily, and allow maritime traffic to resume while a new “governance regime” for Hormuz is finalized. Iran is also demanding a compensation mechanism funded by the U.S. and other countries involved in attacks on Iran to pay for damages inside Iran, along with an end to Israeli attacks in Lebanon. ➤ Track 2: Nuclear negotiations after the war ends. Iran says it would: • Suspend enrichment above 3.6% for 10 years • Dilute uranium enriched above 20% under supervision inside Iran • Commit not to develop a nuclear weapon In return, Iran wants: • Recognition of its right to enrich uranium • Limited enrichment rights preserved under a future agreement • Full sanctions relief The Trump administration reportedly wants the war-ending deal and nuclear agreement finalized simultaneously, while continuing to insist Iran cannot keep enriched uranium. Iran says that demand remains a major obstacle. Iranian officials also warned Tehran is preparing for escalation if attacks resume, including potential strikes on U.S. interests and bases beyond West Asia, as well as Gulf energy infrastructure and naval assets, alongside possible coordination with regional allies to disrupt shipping in the Bab al-Mandab Strait. 🔗 Full report below ⬇️

I have every confidence that President Trump fully understands the situation with Iran and will not continue to tolerate a refusal to negotiate in good faith along with Iran’s defiant aggression in the Strait of Hormuz and throughout the region.  It is abundantly clear to me that Iran has been very weakened militarily and economically. But at the same time, they have become more emboldened and aggressive.   A short but forceful response now would reset the conflict in all the right ways.  When it comes to Iran, it is imperative that we negotiate from a position of strength and dominance. We must finish what we started. I fear continuing negotiations without a forceful response prolongs the conflict, gives our allies doubt and will further embolden the Iranian terrorist regime.

Since you’re into anniversaries, @ZohranKMamdani, put July 14 in your calendar. That’ll be the 59th anniv. of the expulsion, after deadly pogroms, of my wife & her family from their ancestral home in Libya. After 2000+ years, NO Jews are left in Libya. Not one. Why, Mr. Mayor?

After extensive review of the facts and the law, my office will seek the death penalty against Elias Rodriguez. The superseding indictment alleges the intentional and premeditated murders of Yaron Lischinsky (30) and Sarah Milgrim (26), the targeted killing of individuals associated with an event for young Jewish professionals at the Capital Jewish Museum, and conduct that created a grave risk to additional innocent victims.   Let me be clear: anyone who commits acts of political violence in the nation’s capital will face the full force of the law.

Focus on your own affairs, Trita. You are not in a position that qualifies you to assess the strategic depth of the United Arab Emirates’ policies. And do not forget that, at the height of what was called the Islamic Revolution in Iran, the Iranian regime cooperated with Israel in purchasing weapons. Instead of criticizing the UAE’s policy, you would be better advised to spend your time studying history — particularly the Iran–Contra affair.
Trita Parsi@tparsi

The UAE committed a massive mistake joining the Abraham Accords, which at its core was an attempt to build an Arab-Israeli alliance against Iran. That core has become unmistakable now as a result of Israel and the US's war on Iran. This was a mistake by the UAE because it meant that the Emirates attached itself to Israel's enmity with Iran, which runs deeper than the Emirates' tensions with Tehran, even though the Emirates is right next to Iran, while Israel is roughly 1,000 km from Iran. But Abu Dhabi is now trapped, and to some extent, the Iran war appears to have been aimed at forcing GCC states to move closer to Israel to seek protection from Iran. So in the midst of the war, Netanyahu secretly traveled to Abu Dhabi and offered the Emirates Iron Dome protection. This is what Israel considers a major breakthrough in their relationship. In reality, it is the manifestation of the trap that the Abraham Accords have become for the Emirates. apnews.com/article/netany…

Today I instructed my legal advisers to consider the harshest legal action against The New York Times and Nicholas Kristof. They defamed the soldiers of Israel and perpetuated a blood libel about rape, trying to create a false symmetry between the genocidal terrorists of Hamas and Israel’s valiant soldiers. Under my leadership, Israel will not be silent. We will fight these lies in the court of public opinion and in the court of law. Truth will prevail.

In politics, you're done when you become a joke. Same in journalism. @NickKristof - and the editors at the @nytimes who green-lit the Jewish rape dogs story - have become a punchline. A joke. This one is going to follow them around to the end of their days. They're done.
