@jake_burdett @LisaESnowden Advisors and handlers use info, and the question of where that info comes from being relied upon is always a timely one as is who gets a seat at the table to craft narratives, particularly the ones deemed inconvenient/pesky. Some folks make you wonder if they value research.

@rkobell @MsHallieMiller I think that if people knew half of the stories that people tried to bring to media through the years, we’d have a better understanding of issues that already exist. Love “democracy dies in darkness” but so does faith in government. Sad reality.

@rkobell @abbyzimmardi I love that more people are becoming interested in the past. The discipline needs more people who have an interest in mining the historical records, and then able to learn how to do it. The archives are intimidating to most. The same can likely be said about zoning ☺️

@MJareaux @abbyzimmardi I find the history stories I write do well - people DO want to know about the past. Especially if it involves righting a wrong. I'm glad to hear you're getting positive feedback about it and people are talking/reading. Now, if we could only interest the masses in zoning stories!

The problem with unnamed sources is they rob the public of the ability to discern the credibility of said sources and, therefore, the information put forth, and it allows the source to speak with no responsibility whatsoever. That is why we were taught unnamed sources should always be used sparingly, with great caution and only when the stakes require it.

@hocorising D. Plymer from AA co had some good things to say at a recent public discussion about the legislation’s intent to create the office along with a companion whistleblower measure. Biggest takeaway: establish it first. Auditor is backoffice. IG is more in the light/oversight.
