Which sport can a top athlete *start* the latest at age-wise (say 18 years old, entering college) and still be able to be a league average player in that sports best league within 10 years? This athlete would have NEVER before played that sport, but has played other ones

Both Arizona and Michigan fans have believed all season long that they are the superior team, going back to when they were some of the last undefeated teams in the nation. We don't have to guess anymore. 40 minutes on the hardwood in Indianapolis will decide it.

@TomFornelli @itsAntWright Yeah was the same thing for Edey’s purdue teams. Purdue would take a ton of shots at the rim and Edey would deter opponents from taking them, and then they would always have a high FT diff

@itsAntWright It's practically the foundation of their defensive philosophy. Don't reach and make them take jumpshots.

Newest project: Statistical Height Projects how tall a player is based solely on their statistical profile. Aimed to see how “big” a player actually plays based on performance in stats positively correlated with height, independent of their listed height.

@MLBRandomStats @matthewwinick Sure but it’s more than just that. Purdue missed open shots and didn’t play as good of defense as they have the last 6. It’s more than just “smith shooting more than 12 shots”. Also if you make it more than 11 shots, they’re 8-6.

Purdue fans are not happy with this stat. Even though it is not an opinion. Here is why this Smith shooting thing exists: Purdue averages 1.37PPS (pt per shot) at the rim, No. 1 in the country. Smith shoots 12.4% of Purdue's rim attempts. Purdue averages 1.2PPS on Catch-and-Shoot threes, No. 6 in the country. Smith shoots 9.9% of Purdue's C&S attempts. Purdue averages 0.96PPS on dribble jumpers, No. 37 in the country. Smith shoots 49.4% of Purdue's dribble jumper attempts. Not only is Smith's preferred method of FG the least efficient Purdue takes, but his elite playmaking helps Purdue achieve such good looks that they are remarkable efficient elsewhere. Obviously Smith needs to take shots, but when he takes 12+, it is more likely than not that Purdue's shot profile is less efficient.
