It always blows my mind that the German architect Walter Gropius who co-designed the (then) PanAm Building in New York was born in 1883.
He was 20 when the Wright brothers did their first flight, 25 when Model T was first produced... And somehow drew this.

@gueudredesign Ed was introduced to Tony first by me, and then later by Gary Goddard. Bruce must’ve intervened at just the right time. I also introduced Tony to Bruce when we were both working on Journey into Imagination at Epcot.

French palace architecture with mansard rooflines refers to French Baroque or Second Empire influence. The mansard roof is a key feature: a roof with two slopes on each side, with the lower slope much steeper, often used on châteaux, hôtels particuliers, and grand civic buildings
