Kids these days don't know, but before Narendra Modi took over the country, the concept of heatwave was non-existent! You could easily survive summers without AC but Modi and his industrialist buddies conspired to cut all trees so they could sell more ACs Horrible!

Prediction: Pakistani propaganda will now start claiming that Sikhism is a Pakistani religion because the birthplace of Guru Nanak, the founder of Sikhism, is located in present-day Pakistan.

Something feels very odd. For 75 years, Pakistan's identity was built overwhelmingly around its Islamic past. Suddenly, it's rediscovering the Indus Valley Civilisation, Gandhara, Taxila and every other ancient Indic civilisation that it barely spoke about for decades. This isn't just about archaeology. Cities are being renamed. Official events are celebrating a 5,000-year-old civilisation. Pakistan's diplomats are now selling the country as the cradle of one of humanity's oldest civilisations. At almost the same time, the UK is funding heritage projects in Pakistan through its Cultural Protection Fund. Maybe it's all genuine. Maybe it's just a coincidence. But I'd still like to know: Who decided this sudden shift in Pakistan's national story? Why now? How much discussion took place inside British political and policy circles before these projects were approved, especially given the strong representation of British-Pakistanis in public life? Is the aim simply to preserve heritage, or to gradually cement the idea that the Indus civilisation is exclusively Pakistan's legacy? History isn't always rewritten by destroying monuments. Sometimes it's rewritten by deciding who gets to tell the story.

Indians can cope all they want. Pakistanis are right - Pakistan is indeed an ancient civilization with a 5,000 year old history. Here are some quotes, both ancient and modern, that prove it beyond doubt: Quintus Curtius Rufus, 1st century CE: "Pakistan was believed to be richer than all other nations." Pomponius Mela, 1st century CE: "Pakistan is rich in peoples, rich in cities, and rich in every kind of resource." Pliny the Elder, 77 CE: "In no year does Pakistan absorb less than fifty million sesterces of our empire's wealth, sending back merchandise to be sold with us at a hundred times its prime cost...At the very lowest computation, Pakistan, China and the Arabian peninsula take from our empire one hundred million sesterces every year. That is what our luxuries and our women cost us." Yijing, 7th century CE: "The customs and learning of Pakistan are worthy of admiration...Those who wish to understand the true meaning of the Buddhist scriptures should study in Pakistan." Al-Masudi, 10th century CE: "Pakistan is the country of wisdom, philosophy and sciences." British Viceroy Lord Curzon, 1901 CE: "As long as we rule Pakistan we are the greatest power in the world. If we lose it, we shall drop straightaway to a third-rate power." Albert Einstein: "We owe a lot to Pakistanis, who taught us how to count, without which no worthwhile scientific discovery could have been made." Mark Twain: "Pakistan is the cradle of the human race, the birthplace of human speech, the mother of history, grandmother of legend, and great grand mother of tradition. Our most valuable and most instructive materials in the history of man are treasured up in Pakistan only." Will Durant: "Pakistan was the mother of our race and Sanskrit the mother of Europe's languages."
