Wow! Ok I watched this over and over. This is crazy… how do you think this should be handled? What would you do if this was your kid catcher and runner?

@RestrictedDaily The cathcher without the ball cannot be blocking home plate. I blame the coach for not teaching his catcher to wait just in front of the plate and out of the way of the runner. The runner does not know where the ball is. This catcher is standing on home plate and will get trucked

What do y’all think should’ve happened here? Should the runner have slid and tried to break up the play? Should he have stopped and let the catcher make the tag? Or did he do exactly what he was supposed to do and just keep running through the play? You can hear the parents in the background absolutely losing it. Curious where everybody stands on this one.

@RestrictedDaily The runners used to be able to run into the catcher to break up the play by causing him to drop the ball. The soft rules nowadays probably require the runner to slide. They are ruining sports!
