05.12.2024 - A wonderful 90-year anniversary celebrations of the @BritishCouncil with @samwaldock the Acting British High Commissioner to Zambia and Hon. Douglas Syakalima, the Zambia's Education Minister, who were special guests and friends of @zmBritish in Zambia.

A decade ago this site was still bush. Now Kalumbila is Zambia's most productive mine, supporting 1000s of jobs & paying more taxes than any other business. UK headquartered @FQM is part of the @UKinZambia 🇿🇲🇬🇧 #GreenGrowthCompact bringing long term, responsible investment.

Sad that journalist Thomas Zgambo of Whistleblower was picked up last evening & detained for alleged criminal libel. Complainant unknown, but certainly over his reporting. @HHichilema, you promised to ensure no journo is harassed for doing their work, tell police to stop this!

As a kid I loved going to the zoo to see big cats 🐆 After living in Africa and seeing them in their natural habitat I shall never visit a zoo again. These magnificent creatures should live free as nature intended.

Traditional leaders play an important role in Zambia's culture & society. I was honoured to pay a courtesy call on Chief Chizela of the Kaonde people in Mufumbwe.

My 1st ever visit to Mufumbwe District! I met civic & traditional leaders to discuss development & @UKinZambia's support for the drought. I committed to returning for the groundbreaking of Kalengwa mine, by UK firm Moxico Resources, which will provide jobs in the district.
