Very proud of @KouroshMaboudi for his conscientious work on nature.com/articles/s4158…, where he developed and applied a new method to track the spatial tuning of hippocampal neurons during offline periods and found that they can change during ripples after maze exposure. 1/3

and 2) the emergence of mixed dorso-ventral assemblies provides a potential mechanism through which these distinct representations of learning and behavior can be combined to construct an integrated representation of the emotional experience across the whole HPC. 11/11

To sum up: 1) representations related to different aspects of an emotional experience (fear expression vs. fear learning) are distributed differentially along the dorsoventral axis of the HPC. 10/11
