The latest Health and Social Care Committee report shares that systemic racism in maternity care is leading to disproportionately poor outcomes for mothers and babies. Black women are more than twice as likely to die in childbirth compared with white women, and their babies face a higher risk of stillbirth. These devastating disparities are rooted in systemic failures in leadership, accountability, and a culture that too often dismisses women’s concerns. At The For Baby’s Sake Trust, we believe every mother and baby deserves safe, respectful, and equitable care. Change is urgently needed. Outcomes must improve, and services must listen to and respect Black women’s experiences. We stand alongside those calling for accountability, anti-racist practice, and compassionate leadership in maternity care. 📣 We are looking for parents/carers and healthcare professionals that can support us for the next year to review our accreditation programme for neonatal units, the Bliss Baby Charter. 📣 We are planning on conducting a comprehensive review of the content of the Baby Charter, to ensure the programme continues to be relevant and in line with ever changing practice, especially in relation to FICare, and the new Bliss strategy. For more information on the review and on how to apply to support us please visit our website: shorturl.pulse.ly/lsrzssrzja Deadline for applications is 3rd of August.

How do you mark your baby’s birthday or due date? After #PregnancyLoss and #BabyLoss, milestones can be difficult to manage. You may choose to do something special or perhaps you would rather let it pass by quietly. How you grieve is unique to you 💜🧡 sands.org.uk/support
