@KristinZiemke I just recently discovered @NewsLitProject and am planning to use a lot of their free educator resources. I want to redesign a nonfiction unit in ELA to focus solely on sources and reading the world through a critical lens.

@KristinZiemke Thank YOU! As a previous tech coach&now working w/ middle schoolers my big goal is coaching Ss on research I see flippant habits developing when students research independently. Also thinking about the creativity&consumption spectrum. We need both to be digitally literate.

Currently #reading @KristinZiemke Read the World - I'm obsessed and affirmed by the idea that we can't treat students like tech experts. They aren't, yet. It's our job to coach them through the nuances rather than assume they already know. #readtheworldnow

@Mr_Rablin I feel this one! As someone who has worked in USA public and in International private - more planning time is a must! It also makes for more robust programs. In the international world, kiddos go to world languages and other interesting electives that just don’t exist in the USA.

(A) Increase the amount of planning time teachers get each day. Yes, ideally this would require hiring more teachers, but there just aren't more teachers. There are other solutions, though. Examples: americanprogress.org/article/reimag… 11/

I've had a bunch of close friends leave teaching and start working in the private sector. Without fail, every single one of them says they are less stressed, their work/life balance is better, and their mental health is better, even though some are making less money. 1/

Second graders @RpdsJax build communities for social studies project. Now, they’re working with me to take photos and film a commercial for their community. We use @DoInkTweets so they can edit themselves into their community with #GreenScreen #edtech #edtechchat
