Every day there are more and more alarms bells going off surrounding the real state of the Russian economy.

Putin forcing a massive offensive at the worst possible time of the year in order to attempt to regain Kursk before Trump takes office.
If they can't, Trump's possible frozen frontline deal looks a lot less appetizing to Putin.

Putin is spending $140bn while we struggle to promise fifty. We are basically sending him the message "We won't stop you", so he won't stop. But if we allocated $800bn, he would be forced to rethink. Yes, we could afford it. And yes, it would be cheaper than letting him carry on.

my mom (who's a university professor) did something interesting last year: she assigned her students to give chatgpt an essay question, have it write a paper, and then proofread/fact check it. nearly every single student in that class came out of that assignment anti-chatgpt.
