I understand the sentiment and the 1980s was obviously worse for queer people in Japan than today is, but please don't apply an american-centric lens to homophobia in different countries. the history of aids and its relation to the queer community in japan is quite different

@angstyweebsys yes, same here! a lot of our headmates are men, but quite a few are women and non-binary. it's so confusing- pre-system discovery we ran through so many labels over the years, it's sooo complicated. sometimes i wish there were collective identity terms for systems!

@avewakaba @angstyweebsys we end up having to broadly say we're bi and non-binary (or just a trans guy to avoid misgendering) around most people but fortunately my close friends either know I'm plural or are chill with abro + genderfluidity

@angstyweebsys it's a struggle, especially when you don't know how to present outwardly. to a lot of singlets a single, linear sexuality is ideal, so when we mask as a singlet, it's really hard to explain our sexuality. some of our headmates are gay men, some of them are lesbians, some bi.
