Following the promise of rebuilding about two years after the community was hit by an accident bomb from military drones, the Vice President, Senator @KashimSM, has commissioned the Tudun Biri Resettlement Scheme, with about 133 completed housing units, educational facilities and other state-of-the-art infrastructure. Senator @KashimSM had in December 2023 visited victims of the drone misfire, assuring them that President @officialABAT had directed that the resettlement scheme should be kick-started in the community. In fulfilment of that promise, he returned to Tudun Biri in July 2024 to perform the groundbreaking ceremony of rebuilding the community under the Resettlement Scheme for Persons Impacted by Conflict (RSPIC). Earlier today, I hosted U.S. officials and private sector leaders for the 2nd Ministerial Nigeria–U.S. Commercial and Investment Partnership (CIP) meeting. Together with Deputy Assistant Secretary Bradley McKinney, Chargé d'Affaires Keith Heffern, Consul General Rick Swart, @usdagov Jason Hafemeister, and @ustda_ Heather Lanigan, we held bilateral discussions on agriculture, manufacturing, and digital infrastructure. Six senior officials flew in from DC extremely well-prepared - a testament to the U.S. Government’s commitment to doing business with Nigeria. On Sunday, I made a quick surprise visit to the Oba Taiwo Lamina Sports Centre in Agboyi Town! A project of the MDO-led administration and the reception was truly amazing! It’s such a beautiful feeling to see how useful and lively this facility has become. I remember when we started building it, people asked, “Why the riverine Agboyi Town?” Well, I believe everyone can see why now! We opened up the ancient town, and seeing residents and visitors gather in their numbers, enjoying the space with so much excitement, is deeply fulfilling. They were happy to receive us, and we were just as happy to be back. Hanging out with my people even after leaving office felt surreal, a reminder that we worked, we delivered, and today, people are enjoying one of the true wonders of our administration.
