Per a source close to Iran's negotiating team, the 14 article MoU calls for $24 billion in Iranian frozen assets released during negotiations.
Tehran insists half, $12 billion, must be available the moment the MoU is announced.
The remaining $12 billion follows within 60 days.
Qalibaf's Doha visit reportedly produced good results on the mechanism, drawing on lessons from the failed South Korea and Qatar releases under Biden.
The same source called the United States "a party that does not honor its commitments," saying Iran is approaching the talks with deep caution.
Money up front, 60 day tail, deep distrust.
That is Iran's actual ask.

🇺🇸🇮🇷🇮🇱 The Iran deal nearly collapsed this week over one unexpected addition: the Abraham Accords.
Lt. Col. Karen Kwiatkowski has a theory of what transpired:
"Somebody whispered in his ear that this was a good idea.”
Ted Cruz called the emerging deal a "disastrous mistake," Pompeo called it "not remotely America First," Graham and Bolton piled on.
Then Trump floated expanding the deal to include the Abraham Accords, and Lindsey Graham immediately called it "simply brilliant.”
Qatar, Pakistan, Saudi and Iran all rejected the expansion immediately, and the reason is obvious to anyone paying attention:
"They know exactly why Arab countries and Iran would never participate, it's the Palestinian question, that's why.”
The domestic political pressure on any Iran deal is immense, and the window to get something done is narrowing.
