A lot of people are upset that the 250 celebration isn’t that big and, while there are definitely some legitimately bad and sad reasons for this (to many anti-American foreigners), at least part of it is due to it being 250 instead of 200 or 300.

@MPCArchivist @reggmercer As for your previous question, should a catholic school be allowed to discriminate against religious Jews (qua), absolutely. But this is a farfetched hypothetical. It would never happen. Discrimination would, in reality, only occur on ethnic grounds.

@Commentoooooors Can be a chicken/egg problem. Like anyone I have destructive sexual desires I suppress. I can't think in an unrestrained manner. We know a huge % of HS were molested. Once that barrier is demolished, and your frame of restraint, unlimited sodomy is pursued vs rationed sex.

@EliSchecter @reggmercer My preference is total freedom of association. The FHA didn't give Jews both sides. A SC decision did. In the ancient Anglo sacrament of reciprocity, you get one side. You don't get to toggle back and forth depending on whether you are the plaintiff or defendant.

@MPCArchivist @reggmercer On the basis of religion, absolutely. But if a Jew converts to the Church of Latter Day Saints for example they should not be prohibited from joining a Mormon retirement home.
